Went out to the Pony Express Route area by Vernon, Utah again yesterday. Had a blast, but dang it was cold & the wind didn't help. I froze my tush off !! :shock2: ... The weather guys said, Warm & Sunny ... but when I got there it was 27 degs, windy, overcast with a threat of rain ... good thing I took a couple extra shirts with me. And I had to put my Gore-Tex rain bibs on to protect my ........ legs ... so much for "Warm Weather Riding" ... you'd think I was still winter rid'in with the tracks !! :nopityc:

I did 57.3 miles today and this is unusal for me, but there was lots of road riding betwix the areas to wheel. Got into some sticky black mud, some snow, & yup, some dust. It was a Great Day !! :partyc:

The 30th of Mar 2011 is when I took my first ride with my Can-Am, and as of today, almost one year later, I have 1,758.7 miles on that Bad Boy !! ... Not bad Huh !!?? :cheer: ... and that's true miles, cause I bought the 3rd Position Track module which gives true miles driven & speed when the tracks are on ... so ... to alll you nay sayers ... :slap:

Lots of roads out here, lots to see ... a guy can ride fast and still do lots of techincal riding ... :drivingc:

Well, here's the link to the slideshow ... hope ya like the photo's .... :cheers2c:

I have a 99 Yamaha bear tracker and I have converted the front brakes from drum to disc fairly easy but I cant figure out how to convert the rear with out hacking apart the rear arm. tried to use parts from a wolverine since the rear arms look similar but the caliper mount didn't line up on the bear tracker axle. Can anyone give me any clues or has anyone successfully converted the bear tracker rear brakes. I would even purchase a conversion kit if there is one. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2001 Yamaha Kodiak 400 (YFM400FWAN©) On a recent hunting trip a problem popped up and I hope someone else has experienced this, so that I can learn from them instead of going on my own hunt for an answer.
      The Problem:
On cold days (sub 25 degree) I choke the Kodiak and it starts instantly. It revs up and runs on "high idle" without any problem. However when I return the choke lever to its "normal" position the ATV continues to run and a very high idle. I cant put it into gear until the idle comes down, which it doesn't. In order to use the bike I have to shut it off and when I restart it I must place it into gear before the engine gets a chance to rev up. It then returns to a normal idle and the machine behaves normally. This only happens on real cold days but it is a problem I want to fix. Can anyone offer some help?
