I'm new to the site and I recently bought a 2000 arctic cat 500 4x4 standard shift. The other day I took the battery off to use on something else and then put a charged battery back on and I had no power to anything such as gear selector, lights, starter. I checked the fuses and they all looked good so I am looking for any info on what to do next. Thanks in advance.

From what I see I have checked all the fuses in the fuse box and the one in line fuse that I saw and they all looked good meaning no broken wires in the middle. If the battery was hooked up in reverse what would be the first to blow cause none of the wires got hot and no sparks flew when it was hooked up.

Finally got back to checking some things and there is power to the solenoid however there is not power on the other end of it wen you turn the switch on and hit start. So I'm wondering what to do next because the electrical is kind of my weakness when it comes to working on things.

No my solenoid has the post with the battery cable, the post with what I assume goes to the starter, and two smaller posts with small wires on them that I'm not sure what they run to.

Get a screwdriver and touch tge two big posts for a second see if it starts. If you cant get a screwdriver to touch the terminals at the same time use two screwdrivers and touch em together. If it tries to start you know the solenoid is bad

Finally got it fixed! There was a 30 amp fuse in a relay above the rear right wheel and it was blown. Put a new fuse in and it fired right up.

Hi all.  New to the forum & quads.  Seems like a great place full of info.
I just recently picked up a 2005 Suzuki KingQuad LTA700.  I need a battery.  I've been reading up on conventional vs AGM types.  I have a Royal Distributing and Canadian Tire.  RD has 2 types avail for my year/Model a battery YTX16-BS CRANK $75, and BATTERY YTX20CH-BS YUASA $140.  Neither of these is the type from the manual FTZ16-BS.
from what I can tell... I think the only difference is the capacity with the $75 unit rated at 14 AH/10HR and the $140 unit rated at 18 AH/10HR ... which is the rating in the manual for the FTZ16-BS.  How much does this make a difference for nearly x2 the cost?
And about the models/type numbers.... what is important to know ... they all end in "-BS" but are the other details relevant or just manufacturer naming?

I'm working on a 2002 Polaris Sportsman 400 with shift indicator problems. The indicator panel only will show Neutral and Reverse. If it's in High or Low, the indicator will show "R".
I have replaced the three position indicator switch on the transmission. There is also a two position switch on the tranny that I didn't replace. If anyone is familiar with this problem, please let me know what I need to do. Any help is greatly appreciated!

      I have a 1990 Honda fourtrax 300 2x4
I rode the other day for 30-45 min. Switched it off and now it is completely dead..
battery is fully charged, fuses are good . WILL NOT TURN OVER ,
headlights won't turn on , No neutral, reverse or oil temp lights . Electrically it is completely dead !!! I replaced the key switch and CDI box , STILL NOTHING.
I bypassed the neutral safety switch and grounded it to the battery and still nothing !! I used a jumper wire on the starter Solenoid , the motor will turn over but not start . I even bypassed both fuses and straight wired it to see if I could get a neutral light or headlights still nothing . What could it be ?

The battery on my Big Bear drops completely down in the battery compartment nothing sticks up to grip too, plus there is only 1/8" clearance along the sides, no way to get a grip on it to pull up out of battery compartment. I thought about putting a piece nylon strap under the battery and leaving enough up each side to give me something to pull it up out ff the battery compartment or using a big zip tie around the battery.
Any others have any ideas or have had this issue.
