Hello everyone, this is my first time posting to any forum, so I appreciate the help.

I just got a warrior 350, and the starter is shot, but I wanted to ride so I tried pop starting it. Yesterday it pop started, and now today it catches when I pop it into second gear and give it full throttle. But as soon as I pull in the clutch or let off the gas it dies. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jared

I cleaned the carburetor and it didn't do anything, and then for some reason I decided to take off the airbox cover and all of the sudden it worked, it ran like a champ as long as it was on the first level of choke, as soon as it off choke it dies, any other pointers?

Yeah mine would not start/run with the air filter one either...turns out the foam filter was so laden with dirt and oil no air could get through.

I'm no expert on carbs but read that if will only run on choke, then either carb is dirty. Perhaps bad gas or carb out of adjustment.

Did you do a full carb kit rebuild or clean and reassemble?

I took the carburetor apart and sprayed it down with an entire can of carb clean, I scrubbed it, used wire brushes in the jets, it's real clean. I have heard soaking it in kerosene or diesel fuel works very good. Has anybody heard that?

Also my rear brake caliper is now messed up. Figures. It grinds on the rear disk and sometimes just rubs it. Sorry for all of the questions, just new to warriors and this one seems to have every problem in the book.

Im sure kero or diesel would be fine just remove the rubber gaskets first. Not sure if it matters but better be safe.

As for the rubbing rear disks check to make sure the caliper slides arent gunked up. Also put the rear tires off the ground and shake the axle left and right. Any play means axle bearings are shot. Lastly if you can take off the brake rotor and lay it on a flat surface. Any place its not touching means a warped rotor

Cool, thank you all so much. I'm sure as soon as I get the money to fix these problems, something else will go wrong!! Lol.

Just as an opinion question, do you think that a warrior is a good quad to keep? Or am I better off selling it and buying another quad? I do mostly trail riding, but every now and then I go for a ride through the streets, just to see people's expressions when I pass them lol

a warrior is a great quad for trail riding. If you can get it running good keep it. I had one for 5 years and it went anywhere i wanted to. The rear caliper on the one i had never worked either. I ran mine with just the front brakes. The slides are probably froze up. I have a 350 raptor for my step son and his did the same thing. Replaced the slide on it for $60. And if your warrior runs good without the air filter try cleaning it or just get a new one. They are only around $30 to $40.

i had similar trouble with the carb on my wolverine 350. I cleaned the carb completely, or so i thought. What finally got it running was i had forgotten to use a small wire to clean the port between where the fuel line goes into the carb and into the bowl. Had to remove the float and the valve seat to get to the opening. after that it ran perfectly

      Hi all,

I am wondering if any of you have a Clutch Starter gear from a 1988 era quadrunner 250 sitting around that you could get me a precise measurement of the outer diameter of the race the sprag engages onto, for me? I need to machine a damaged race down and install a hardened sleeve and need that measurement (it's on a different gear than the OEM one, so I can't buy and use a OEM gear).

Hi guys, I was given a 2000 Honda Recon fourtrax 250 (I think that's the full name lol). The previous owner had it sitting for a while before I got it. It sat for another few years in my ownership. I got it up and going on its first test drive today!! I was wondering where everyone buys their parts from?  Coming from the car community, we have sites like RockAuto and many more. Anything like that for quads? Also would like to be pointed in a direction, if possible, for plastics. I am missing a few and would like to have it complete. I appreciate any input!

Hi all. I have a timberwolf 250 2nd that will not start.. I thought it was out of time bc the guy I got it from said it just quit on him. The tensioner had a nut welded to it and it was like2 teeth off. I installed new tensioner and chain and it still will not start. It has fire and it will not hit off brake cleaner. It has compression. Haven't put a gauge but I'm sure it will crank and run with what it has. I double checked my work and it's still in time. Spot on. Both valves move. I'm about to put a feeler gauge on them and I'll cone back but other than that any ideas?

      Hi all,
Looking for some help on a starter/bendix issue. Can Am outlander 450 2017. While cranking to start, the starter spins and engages into the ring gear. After a few seconds the bendix retracts while still spinning and there is no damaged teeth on the drive pulley.
