Hello everyone ! I'm currently rebuilding my carburetor on my Yamaha moto 4 350 1987, first time I rebuild a carb 😅 ! It was leaking fuel from the overflow and inside the intake .... When I took off needle (the platic top part was stuck like crazy) I had a spring and inside the kit there is a spring, an O-Ring and a washer. Left is the needle that was in the carburetor and right is the new set (I already tried to mount it but it didn't felt right and I accidentally broke the o-ring) Anyway, I saw in some videos and diagram that there is no spring in here. So should I put the spring back ? And where ? On top of the needle or bottom ? This is an original Mikuni carb : Thank you ! Also if you have any additionnal tips please feel free to share I want to learn the proper way !

I just got my hands on this 87" Polaris Cyclone last week. It´s was in good running condition, I painted it and replaced steering bushings etc.. But the problem is that the Carburetor floods. Its seams it floods just as soon as you stream the gas down from the tank and I usually have to keep the throttle wide open for it to start. I have taken the carb apart but I see nothing wrong... Could you guys give me a hint on what to look for and adjust?

I recently bought this quad. When I shift into gear it wants to take off on me or stall if I hold the brake. I can get it moving if I use the shifter like a clutch and let it down easy. I have manual and adjusted clutch but it seems to be all or nothing meaning it won't go at all. What is my next move? New clutch? Any ideas?

EDIT: Never mind, found that our local Suzuki dealer lists them for under $4 each. I did not realize they would carry parts for ATVs that old. I cant figure out how to delete the thread, so I apologize! Hello everyone, This is my first time posting - hopefully I am in the right place...but please be kind if not! I am not ashamed to admit that I am a crazy beginner when it comes to ATV repair (okay, auto repair in general), but I am trying to restore this ATV piece-by-piece. I ordered front and rear brake shoes yesterday, then realized the set I ordered does not come with those stupid little springs. I can only find used springs on Ebay and can not find anyone selling new ones anywhere except with the shoes (and were crazy expensive compared to what I paid...I guess for good reason). Anyone have any idea where I can get my hands on a new set of these springs? Thanks so much!! Susan

Hello; new here. I have not road for a very long time. I just purchased a 1987 honda 250sx and have been enjoying putting around on it. I have only owned it for a short time. It seems to run good. it starts easy enough even though the choke does not work. takes about 4 or 5 kicks cold. then it goes right to a soft idol. but I have noticed 2 problems. When I have been riding and I stop and put it in neutral the rpm goes up pretty high. A little to high to pop it back into gear. and if I take of in 1st without using the L1 it will bog down if I try to punch it. is this because you should always take off stating in the short L1 gear or could there be any other problem. I dont notice any smoke at all and it idols pretty soft so I didnt think the compression was low.

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting to any forum, so I appreciate the help. I just got a warrior 350, and the starter is shot, but I wanted to ride so I tried pop starting it. Yesterday it pop started, and now today it catches when I pop it into second gear and give it full throttle. But as soon as I pull in the clutch or let off the gas it dies. Any ideas? Thanks, Jared

So the key ignition on my quad locked up. I ordered a new one. Received one from a newer model so I just wired the old plug to the new cylinder. Now it will not start. Is there a difference in the way the new cylinder works. Kind of lost here.

so finally got the quad started after the winter, I use a 1987 LT-4WD on my ground for "yard work", today after a very hard start, the choke cable snapped, fixed that (temp), got it running, idle is rough. added some seafoam to the gas to help clean it up. Hooked up lawn aerator loaded with cynderblocks and the quad would not go. seemed like it was trying, but nothing. reverse worked fine. hi, low, 4wd, no difference. anything forward was no joy. So, the engine lacks power. pulled the sleds fine over the winter - and before that, now is the only time she wont budge!

Dear forum members, I recently purchased a 1987 LT230E Quadrunner and it didn't come with a owners manual. My question is what position does the choke lever need to be in to start a cold engine? Pushed up or down? Is there a way to adjust the choke? I have a Clymers repair manual but nothing is mentioned ablut the choke for the chain driven model. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Phil

I have a hard starting trx200. When I use starter fluid it will start for a few seconds and die. I cleaned it and replaced spring for choke. Still doesn't start. Spark is good and starter cranks good. Any ideas would be appreciated. I do have a second carb to replace it with but if I can fix it easily the better as these take a bit to tear apart. Thanks Ron

Correct me right off the bat here if I'm wrong, I'm not sure if they're vacuum or breather lines. However, does anyone have a diagram of the lines? When I pulled the carb there were 2 lines that were not connected to anything. I did find a nipple on the frame next to the one for the diff breather line but again am unsure if these are breather or vacuum lines. A diagram would be great or if I could get pointed in the right direction. I did run through all the Honda threads and didn't find anything. I also looked at exploded diargrams on parts websites, they just don't explain where these lines go. Thanks in advance!

I have got a 87 big bear 350 4x4, I have been working on.It was running rough when I bought it.I cleaned the carbs and need to adjust it a little more to get it right, but it is running better. But, the problem I have it smokes alot, when I bought it and got it home it was low on oil and did not smoke much, but after I added the proper amount of oil it smokes alot.It is white colored smoke and it has oil residue on the tail pipe,it seems to have good compression. Do I need new rings or valve seals or guides? Any help would be appreciated.
