  1. Hello everyone, I have a new to me 86 Bayou 300 that I just bought last night to get around the property. It wouldn't start when I bought it but it did turn over with starting fluid, PO said the carb neeeded cleaned. I cleaned the carb today but need to get the choke wired up as it was not wired up when purchased. I'm hoping one of you can help me get this choke wired up. Coming from the carb it has 2 wires. 1 is yellow and 1 is black. The PO said I needed to ground one and put the other one on a switch. Should I do it this way or is there another/better way to do it? I'd really appreciate any help I could get!! Thanks in advance!
  2. Anybody know if it is possible to put a manual choke on this POS ?? It has not started or run right (until it warms up) since I bought it brand new, had it in the shop under warranty multiple times and finally gave up. I have to use starting fluid on it constantly. It has a primer lever that is a royal pain to get to, and even that does not help in the cold weather witch is when is it gets the most use for ice fishing and plowing my drive. Thank you in advance for any help you might have.

I recently purchased a 1993 Yamaha Big Bear 350 for $300 from a guy at work who could not get it running, getting rid of old fuel and changing the plug it fired up, it has a new carb rebuild that was done before i bought it, problem i have is that it only starts and runs on half choke, even in the -15 celcius canadian weather today. im not sure where to start on this, any help would be great, thanks.
  4. Had the opportunity to buy a 1999 King Quad really cheap with snow plow included. Has 2000 miles on it. Im used to having Hondas and i am not familiar with Suzuki at all. Where should the choke be when running? I runs with the choke lever toward the ground but stalls when coming to the end of pushing a pile of snow.
  5. My 1987 Trail boss will start with choke on, and then the choke must immediately be taken off to get the engine to run for 5 seconds only. If the choke is reapplyed when the engine is shutting down after burning its 5 second gulp of fuel from the choke, it will run for another 5 seconds and so on. I have removed and cleaned the carb twice without finding a problem or improving the problem. Each time I remove the carb, the bowl is full of fuel. Compression is 95 psi. It is only running on the fuel provided by continually applying the choke!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Dear forum members, I recently purchased a 1987 LT230E Quadrunner and it didn't come with a owners manual. My question is what position does the choke lever need to be in to start a cold engine? Pushed up or down? Is there a way to adjust the choke? I have a Clymers repair manual but nothing is mentioned ablut the choke for the chain driven model. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Phil
  7. Can someone explain to me how the choke works on a Kingquad? I think (since the cable is not installed / rusted) it's keeping my engine from running right. I may need the whole new plunger assembly but can't find one online. If I can fix the cable, all I would need is a new spring.
  8. I have a 2000 Arctic Cat 300 that starts fine and runs fine at low rpms. It puts out black smoke and cuts out at high rpms. The plug looks black and fouled like it is running too rich. Putting the choke on when riding at the highest rpm it will run smoothly at seems to make no difference. I have taken the choke apart, and it seems to operate ok. Is there a way to "lube" the choke so it slides more easily? what am I missing?
