So.. it a weird one.. The quad surges as you go down the road. By the looks of my tracks, it's one wheel only. High range, low range, 2 wd , 4 wd.. It just doesn't matter..
You can see in the pictures the marks it leaves. That was in a straight line, with hardly any acceleration.
Any ideas?
i currently have a 99 kodiak 400 and a 2021 honda pioneer 1000 and two 110 china atvs , i have rode atvs for 20+ years and now am starting to fix up some for my kids
Trying to see if there would be any interest in either or both of these groups. I was surprised there was not already a Polaris Club--there could be so many sub-clubs...
Scrub brushes didn't work.
Pressure washer was able to remove the high spots and leave a nice consistent orange.
Sent the cylinder out for a new sleeve and it came back shotblasted clean.
Wire brush and elbow grease does the best so far, now using drill attachment with wire brush.
What else besides scotch brite pads and detergent is out there?
Can you believe this thing blew a new head gasket after a few weekend rides? Granted, it was beat on in a mud hole every weekend, but this is a new head gasket on a 400 Kodiak. Bummer.
