I love this group of folks. Everyone shares their knowledge so freely and there isn't any fb type crap. Mech is this ignition the same as on my 91 Hilux 22re? I had to replace the ignitor once. And I'll say it once again! I hate it when the sparkulator don't spark.

Yes a valve adjustment can help with cold starts. Chinese carbs are hit and miss on quality and can be a bear to dial in. Personally I'd look at ebay for a used oem. There's no temp sensor on that carb.

I agree with haying to harvest it, but just to cut it down it looks ideal. I'd have one if it was in the budget. I think that tires that handle all the rocks we ride over here In West Virginia can handle those staubs.

Since this op I've seen 3 different used pull hehind mowers on FB Marketplace. Mech the one I plan on using is a vertical shaft. The 16 hp briggs in my old Bolens is a horizontal, same l head configuration. Your son might like these pics. With, and without the cooling shroud. I love the farmer applied crack repairs. I'm fixing to copy his deck roller replacement. His method will replace them all for around $25.00. New ones are available for about $150..

For certain things I use it a lot. Not where actual grese is required though.

Mech I bet having paid you get a break. The new look at this to continue is a bit much, but if it keeps the bills paid then I shouldn't whined.

I've a thought, don't know if it's worthwhile but... Has anyone used any sort of rubber protectant on their boots. I'm bringing back an old machine that sat in the field of lost dreams for years. The boots aren't ripped or dry rotted but I would like them to last a while. Thanks for your thoughts.

Have ordered gaskets, got a good bearing out of the Quadrunner. Front brakes reassembled. I'll get there slow but sure.

Man that bearing is pricey. I'll order the stator puller, and hopefully one of the other 4 motors has a good one. The Quadrunner motor is on a shelf, hopefully it works.

I swapped the starter with one I had opened up,cleaned, and tested. Not sure what oil hole you mean.

Well I may have discovered why this bike was put out to pasture. Finally got the starter to spin and thats all it does. Is that indicative of the sprag clutch being shot

I've been using this as a dielectric for years as well as brake grease and pivot points and such. Trailer connections, spark plig boots. It's a lot cheaper and does the.same thing as dielectric grease.

Personally I research and read reviews. Plus it depends on what you want the end product to be. A full restoration is different from a functional usable machine. General fasteners- hardware store. Carburetor, rebuild what I have or search ebay for an oem that hits my price point. Facebook market place can be good for bodywork. Or maybe a complete parts machine. Tires for the machine I'm building now are going to be from Kenda, there are some on Amazon that look really good at almost half the price. But reading reviews outside of Amazon I'm thinking they may not be a.good investment. I've a tight budget for the equipment on the farm here and am always looking to save money. I try to keep the mechanics of things in the best shape I can but don't worry what they look like.
