  4. Hey Acme, so I had the same issue with a barn rescue 1990 220. There are a bunch of places to look, I ended up stripping the bike and going over everything as it is a father son project and my kids will be riding the bike, so I wanted it reliable. I found that my push start switch was intermittent, it was an easy take apart clean up contacts and re install. I also took put the neutral and reverse indicator switch cleaned contacts as well. I took all of the electrical parts and connectors apart and cleaned applied dielectric grease etc. Check the starter solenoid and the round starter relay too. By doing all of these things my system worked again. I need to replace my original starter solonoid as it is a bit crusty. If the lights for the neutral and reverse are not lit up it wont work, means power isnt getting there. The reverse switch involves removing the engine. I needed to do it. In the end I feel like going through the whole system was worth it on a 30+ year old bike. There is no easy answer but if you have the service manual and a multi meter you can check all of the components. My money is on startr relay and solenoid. Check that all of the switches ie ignition and engine stop run are working using a multi meter. It takes time but doing each component one by one you will find the problem. Mine is looking like a bit of a mess we plan on painting frame etc plastics and reassembly. Uploading a shop manual if you don't have it. 1988-2002 Kawasaki Bayou 220 Service Manual.pdf
  5. Good to know about the adjustment, I still havent had time to take a look at at. Thanks for the info Oldbear, will make the job a bit quicker for me!
  6. Ontario is a bit different. You have to be 16 yrs old, have a drivers licence to cross a road, and far as driving on the shoulders go each municipality has a say on that. Its a go unless they pass by laws prohibiting it. And off road plates and insurance required too. Speed limited to 50km/h too. The Police are good about it, so long as you aren't driving like an as* they leave us alone.
  7. I'm so happy to be able to help out. I know sometimes it can be so frustratung trying to find a good service manual. I have been busy here too with kids hockey etc. And havent spent much time on my projects either. Let me know if there is anything you need help with on your machine, if its something I have encountered I may be able to offer some advice. Glad to help out and I'm looking forward to some updates on your Moto4.
  8. That is an impressive list! I am looking to help a friend out with his sons machine. Its a 2012 polaris sportsman 90. If you have a manual for it please let me know. Thanks
  9. Hey e.p, I have n 03 and an 06 kodiak 450. My 2006 does the same thing...sometimes in park rocking the bike back and forth turns the light on, and for neutral its hot or miss. Moving the lever left and right in park also had worked for me. I have shifted between high and N a few times in a row as it requires no braking and the light works. I havent bothered too much with it as the bikes can be started on gear as long as the rear brake is on. May just be a minor adjustment in the shift linkage...my 2003 never acts up the way the 06 does. Not too much help I know, bit a common issue I suspect.
  10. Hey Tin, Sounds like a good project. I have a 1988 200, which sufffered an engine fire. They are easy to work on, but you may have to get creative for some of the parts which are no longer available. Im new to the site as well but fell free to PM me if you have any questions. I will try and uplaod a pdf shop manual as I have one. Take care moto 4 manual.pdf
  11. Hey Ichabod, I have an 1988 moto 4 200, spent a ton of time on it....long story but running well today. A lot of parts for these are no longer available. I do have a pdf copy of the service manual. I have no idea if its cool to share it on the site or not. Keep me on the loop happy ro share any knowledge that I have. Just replaced front shocks on mine with off shore units, they work fine. Anyways good luck and look forward to updates.
  12. I'm not really to great with the fourms, but quick update. We pulled off the air box and emptied the mouse nest....little buggers deatroyed the foam filter. Pulled carb cleaned and re installed. Put a bunch of two stroke oil in the cylinder the night before let it soak. Quad has a manual pull, so gently pulled it over no issues at all. Oil change.....and added gas and battery. The thing started first pull! Still have a ton of work ahead but it was encouraging to hear it run!
  13. New here too, I own 5 atvs right now with a project I'm starting for the kids. A "Barn find" Kawasaki bayou 220. Hasnt run in 10 years and it will be a father son project. Looking forward to sharing and getting advice and help with things.
