  1. That's good to know , thanks
  2. No OEM carb kit available for the 2 I am working on, Yamaha and suzuki, all parts are listed separately.
  3. I must have been looking at the wrong part that you need, this is what I was looking at, look anything like yours. https://www.amazon.com/Wztepeng-31300-HN5-A11-Compatible-2000-2006-430-58002/dp/B09BDVKDSP/ref=sr_1_11?keywords=honda+foreman+es+shift+motor+gear+replacement&qid=1685332521&sr=8-11
  4. I guess that would do it, I just assumed the dealer would have put fresh fuel in it before they sold it. Great you got that figured out, beats hauling it back to the dealer.
  5. The fact that you just bought it from a dealer with 22 miles on it, I would take it back, I wouldn't touch it , they might blame you for messing it up.
  6. Has anyone used this oil in their ATV, if so what do you think of it. Went to Wal-Mart again today to buy some oil, this is all they had that was JASCO certified.
  7. Thats great, glad to help, lucky it was an easy fix.
  8. Working on front brakes today, master cylinder reservoir screws had disintegrated as usual got the cover off plastic cover found the rubber seal was filled with water got it out no fluid in reservoir added fluid piston stuck , I am not even wasting my time I ordered o new one. So im going to try and flush out the lines more than likely the bleeders are coroded to the caliper, haven't got there yet . More fun!
  9. If im remembering correctly, 1987-1994 should be the same they changed them in 95 and they were comparable until 2000.
  10. You should spray the starting fluid in the air inlet of the carb or if the air filter is still attached spray it on the air filter if its sucking correctly it will get in there, if still nothing, take the air filter off and put your hand over air inlet if working correctly you should feel suction when cranking the engine on your hand and hand should get wet with gas.
  11. Good you got it fixed sometimes little things will drive you nuts, you did a lot of work , thats a good thing now you know its all nice and clean.
  12. I ended up getting some Valvoline GL5 80-90 weight to put in my Big Bear
  13. I got some lacquer thinner and I will have to say it works better than any paint stripper I have used, the problem with it is it evaporates extremely fast so you have to work fast, I ended up soaking a rag with it and laying the rag on it covers in saran wrap, that worked the best to slow evaporation, I don't want to leave it on for very long anyway it is a strong solvent do not want to hurt the plastic.
  14. I didn't see a repair kit , but I did see on amazon a new aftermarket motor assembly for less than 50.00, if your mounting plate is broken don't you need a new motor. OEM only showed the motor assembly for 180.00, no brush kit.
  15. My thoughts are since you have the cover off you can go ahead and make sure the plates aren't stuck and you can inspect them for wear and replace if necessary , and as mech said with the plates out you are taking the clutch out of the equation, then you can see if it shifts, and you will know for sure if the clutch was causing it.
  16. Thanks Mech, the oil did still seem like it had viscosity but not as thick as when I put it in. The noise does go away immediately when I increase throttle just a little bit, no really reving it up just increasing engine speed slightly. I did blow out the oil cooler with an air pump didn't get crazy with it ,so im sure I didnt get all of it out. Judging for how much rust I got out of the stator cover I figured I had the same in the clutch cover and that I would have to pull it to work on stuck clutch plates, even ordered a gasket for it I was so sure, but it moved ,so far I haven't pulled the clutch side, so I will see how it goes. As always thanks for your help.
  17. Good idea, because sometimes the fiber plates get stuck to the metal plates and they appear to be moving but are really stuck.
  18. There should be a fuse holder and a couple of relays close to the wiring in the battery area, you should check to make sure the fuse is good and that power is getting past the fuse, sometimes fuses can get corroded not make contact, even though it looks good.
  19. I have a craftsman angled like that, it has flat head on one end and Phillips on the other but not as long a handle plus it doesnt have the large Rond line up area, it looks like a good tool that would work well. Good job finding that.
  20. It sounds like the electronic shifter mechanism might be stuck, you might follow the wires down to find that and take a look to make sure its working properly. Lets hope it not the transmission.
  21. Nice bikes you have there, the honda would definitely be worth keeping and restoring , I also have an older 250 they are fun to ride.
  22. Not familiar with that tool I will have to take aa look.
  23. Interesting, that means someone fell off and got hurt because they didn't install it correctly.
