Oh I meant with trails and jumping and what not. I would assume as long as its tight against you like you said and not too heavy it should be fine....right?

Would I want to wear mudlites on all four corners? I ride mostly on the coal hills in NE PA. Coal dust mixed with water gets real slippery, like grease almost. On the other hand alot of the trails are rocks and hard packed dirt. I didnt want to run soft tires on all four corners. or do I? I really have no idea what to run on the fronts. I currently have stockers in front which suck big time and maxxis razrs on the rear. Aside from the coal mud they are a pretty good tire as I keep up with the 4x4s. I do like to ride fast and want handling too. So I will not look at gators anymore. Definetly mudlites in the rear. as for the front? mudlites too? Thanks Buck Billy for the enlightenment!

2003 400ex chain drive too short
marioweldinginc replied to marioweldinginc's topic in Honda ATV Forum
I went by the shop manual instructions. I adjusted without a rider on the machine. Drove it for about a couple of miles (im just outside NYC not alot of dirt around) then readjusted the chain again. As I stated above, I went with the DID chain and sized, installed and adjusted in about 10-15min. I am going to use the Sunstar chain as a spare if needed as I have a few extra links now. Did some research. Ehs says that the outerwears should be replaced everyfew seasons because every year it looses its ability to repel water a little. My lid is at least 6 years old... Problem solved a new outetwears insert coming. Im keeping the Ehs lid. Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk -

Im thinking people also see what they wanna see. If enough people said you saw a spaceship, after a while you think you saw a spaceship. Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk -

1994 Polaris 300 2 stroke chain issues
marioweldinginc replied to Ghost420guy's topic in Polaris ATV Forum
Check the alignment of the sprockets. Dont eyeball them either use a laser. If they are aligned then adjust to proper slack. Drive easy then get on it a little. Ride this way for 20-30. Check chain slack and adjust. Then eyeball the slack every time you ride til it stops stretching then maybe every 20 hours check it. Or weekly whatever. Tell your buddy to stop being a primadonna and take care of his machine properly Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk -
They dont make swamplites in 22x7x10. I might just go with a knobby type like from the factory. Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk

1994 Polaris 300 2 stroke chain issues
marioweldinginc replied to Ghost420guy's topic in Polaris ATV Forum
-What chain is he using (brand) -check the alignment of the sprockets -are the chains being broken in?? balls to the wall on a brand new chain isnt good. it needs to stretch a little first and then readjusted. -
OK so im looking to get 22" GBC gator tires for the rear of my quad. What would be a complimentary front tire? I have a 400EX so big front tires are a nono. Also Ive see alot of sport atv riders wearing backpacks of some sort in the trails? are the comfortable? I will forgo the aluminum rack if the backpack is comfy.

jetting with closed airbox lid
marioweldinginc replied to marioweldinginc's topic in Honda ATV Forum
ok while i was outside before putting on the chain, it started raining lightly. I had the seat off and airbox exposed (remember EHS lid with outwear membrane) and I was watching the water drops pool up on the lid and go right past the membrane. Does the outerwear material lose its effectiveness after a while? There are no rips or tears. I know its not waterproof but at this point its not even slightly water resistant. -
would an infrared thermometer work?? Im not sure what the temps are supposed to be but maybe take a few diff readings at warm up, idle, after a day of riding etc. maybe compare the temps to a buddys quad.

2010 Honda Rancher TRX420 will flat-shifting break it?
marioweldinginc replied to killer420's topic in Honda ATV Forum
I have an 86 Yam moto4 200 with the semi auto. When I first let people ride it they never let go of the throttle when shifting. I can say it till im blue in the face but its always the first day out someone does it. That being said, Inever had a problem with the shifter. It always engages properly. -

I can pull a house with the 13T front. 1st gear is so short but I can almost idle in 1st without stalling. Waiting for some $$$ then its 22"x11x9 GBC Gator tires. That should gimme some more 1st gear -
2003 400ex chain drive too short
marioweldinginc replied to marioweldinginc's topic in Honda ATV Forum
Update. Threw the sunstar chain to the side and bought a DID chain. I broke the links to proper length and installed in about 10 min including adjustment. This isnt a bashing on Sunstars asbthe sprockets are top notch part but i feel that the DID chain seems better made. The DID cost thirty dollars more from the stealer.
