  1. im just gonna leave the 4x4 honda broke down for now. i got the suzuki 700 king quad running now, going to finish it off today, hopefully have it off in a mudhole this afternoon
  2. i finally done the smart thing and done away with the throttle body on my 05 700 king quad. this is just the temporary parts that i used to make sure it would work, my carb is way too small for this engine, ------------------------------------------------------- parts needed. carb. big enough to run a 700, the one i am testing with is off my 06 honda rancher 4x4 350 cc, using 2 pieces of 1 1/2 pvc 2 inches long each. 1 1/2 pvc 90 fuel tank to mount in place of the original airbox ------------------------------------ remove the old throttle body, and airbox. i am also removing the original fuel tank, gonna mount full size deep cycle battery in place of the original fuel tank remove the intake boot off the engine. bevel one end of a piece of pvc. use a good sharp knife and trim the inside of the intake boot just enough to get the pvc at least an inch deep, tighten clamp use the other piece of pvc to attach the carb to, got lucky and was able to use the throttle cable on the carb, mount new airbox with filter to other end of carb. im using an old shop vac hose hooked onto the airbox intake. route this hose to the front end of 4wheeler. attach to piece of pvc pointed straight up bout 2foot above front rack, attach 2 90 elbows at the top for a turn down mount choke cable anywhere you want it. im putting mine on the handle bars im mounting the fuel tank off the honda in place of the original airbox. trust me this does work. the 4wheeler still fires and runs good even with too small of a carb. i dont even have everything mounted permanent yet , as of right now the whole new intake is held together with electrical tape, just wanted to make sure it would work before i spent the time to do it right, tomorrow i will post update and try to upload pics of the completed job
  3. well. i just mounted the carb, an test run it, gonna wait till tomorrow, remove the old fuel tank. then put on a filter box and snorkle. dont let anybody tell you that you have to spend a fortune to keep the fuel injection working. just go old school with it
  4. thank you i test cranked it a lil while ago just holding the carb in place, im putting the new intake together now, hopefully here shortly im going to wake up my whole neighborhood with a test drive
  5. this one is free, and in my opinion the best place to ride in south mississippi, in south mississippi there are some really good trails on I-10 at the canal rd exit. about half a mile south of the interstate turn left right before the railroad tracks for parking area, there are mild trails on the parking side, cross the road on your atv then the fun begins, there are great trails that will take all day to even think bout riding em all, it would be a really good idea to have your bikes snorkled and sealed up tight to take deep water for these trails. if you are riding alone having a winch would be great too, this is not a designated riding area, the police never mess with anybody as long as you dont get your atvs on the public road except to cross it from the parking area to the trails, on average there will be round about 100 atvs in the woods at any given time on the weekends, probly 20 to 30 on weekdays. there is also the midnight riders like myself. our group usually hits these trails from bout 10pm to 6am there is redcreek offroad park, its 20 bucks per bike, plus 5 bucks for extra person. awesome holes though, and they hold their mudfest events couple times a year. redcreekoffroad.com for more info. there is bethel trails on bethel road in saucier ms. its a forrestry service trail. atvs only. 5 bucks per vehicle that you bring in to park. so load up on one truck and trailer, 43 miles of trails. north trail and south trail, personally i do not like south trail. too many tree roots and hairpin turns. have not had a chance to check out north trail. have heard its better, google search bethel atv trails saucier ms new one just opened a few miles north of saucier, sand hill atv park 350 acres, have not been there yet, sandhillatv.com for more info
  6. ck was able to help me with a message. thanks guys. i am working on a fuel injection to carburetor retrofit on an 05 suzuki king quad 700, will post details and parts needed in the suzuki forum in the next couple of days.
  7. ok guys , this is my last post on trying to figure out whats wrong with electronic p.o.s. i went ahead today and removed the airfilter box and the throttle body, i replaced it with a carb off of my blown up honda, it fired right up. idled. and revved up, i will put a new post on here with a parts list and instructions on how to do this modification soon
  8. the person you said message, CK1999_400ex is that a member on this website?
  9. i have an 06 rancher 350 full time 4x4, no range select or 2wd option. i also have an 06 rancher 350 2wd, they both have the 5 speed transmission. the engine is completely wore out on the 4x4, the 2 wd runs great, at this moment i cant afford to rebuild the engine, can i take the engine off the 2wd and put it on the 4x4? the front cover on the 2wd does not have a spot for the front driveshaft to come out
  10. i have a the throttle body and air box off, have a carb and fuel tank ready to go, i do believe i have all the fitting i need to put the carb on , i was unable to actually work on the bike today, might not be able to tomorrow either, i got hurt and spent the day at the hospital today, as long as the meds dont have me looped again tomorrow i will attempt to do away with fuel injection on it, if this does work i will post step by step instructions, parts list, pics, and will answer any questions anyone may have
  11. every connection and wire on this 4 wheeler has been checked, its never been under water, i have a crazy idea that i doubt will work, but, tomorrow im going to put a honda carb on it, temp fuel tank above it, and just for the hell of it see if it will crank and run, will update the outcome, im bout ready to try anything
  12. well, i just took the throttle body off again, took it apart, everything was clean, still same problem. has k&n air filter, the entire fuel system is new, all new lines, pump, injector
  13. it is not throwing any codes at all. one time when adjusting the throttle position it flashed fi, but, i think i may not have had the sensor plugged in good. snapped the connector on all the way , disconnected the battery for a few, code went away and never came back on, i dont think its going into limp mode. the override button does nothing to help. no codes. almost impossible to crank without using ether or spraying gas in throttle body, everything has been changed on this machine, very low miles on it. never been dogged out, original owner is 63 years old and rarely used it, it just will not put enough fuel out to crank , usually as soon as you touch the throttle it completely stops spraying fuel out of the injector, it will idle sometimes perfect, sometimes just for a few seconds before it shuts down, we have temps bout 100 degrees today and it still wouldnt start cold
  14. i have a 700 king quad with very low miles that was recently given to me, the original owner finally got fed up putting parts on that doesnt fix it. there is a new fuel pump and strainer, has 45psi fuel pressure, has new injector, new temp sensor, stock ecm, stock air filter, stock exhaust, (baffles removed from muffler) new spark plug, (very good spark) sometimes it will rev up for a min then it just dies when u give it any gas, when it will run it runs great, it wont idle when cold, will idle warm, starts a little easier when warm, using a heavy duty car battery that is fully charged and hooked up to a charger, low voltage is not a problem, i know this question is out there already, just trying to find some fresh input. i have been a mechanic my whole life, own my own shop , have never had this much headache from any kind of vehicle before.
