I recently got a 98 warrior 350 that 'needed the carb adjusted' but the reality is it has no spark. I have a new spark plug, plug wire, ignition coil, battery, and cdi box. I checked continuity and took apart and inspected the starter/kill/light switch on the handle bar, and it all looks brand new and checked out. The key switch seems to be working properly, as when off, nothing works, but when switched on, lights and electric starter button work. It turns over fine, and as I just stated, all the lights work. I took all the plastics off and traced all the wires, and only one had a small cut in it, but it was only through the rubber sheathing, not the wire itself (the blue one coming from the stator). I cleaned some grounds, made sure both relays work, and still nothing. I pulled the stator cover and looked at the stator itself, and it looks great. No broken wires or connectors or anything. Still, no spark. I'm at a loss. Where do I go next? Any help is appreciated.

Have a 2000 Yamaha Grizzly YFM600FWA with no spark. Checked the troubleshooting chart, and all checks were within specs. CDI has part # 5GT-00 F8T36071. Friend has a 1998 Grizzly 600 but his CDI part # is 4WV-00 F8t34671. Are they the same? Thinking about taking my CDI and put it on his ATV and find out if it works, but don't want to damage something if not interchangeable. Thanks

hi all first post just found forum and the manuals / wiring diagram BIG THANK YOU im struggling to find the vin number on my frame? I m told left side of frame , lower, nr. in front of the gear pedal ?? haven't found it yet , is it numbers stamped on the frame or a commission plate ?? main prob. no spark no power to coil , off to study the wiring info I've just found thanks again. tom

I have worked about 4 weeks on my Griz600 and have burnt 2 CDIs up ! I added a wire harness and stator and It starts but runs erratically like spark timing is off ! So I would like to try another CDI but I don’t want to Pay an arm n leg ! Anybody have one ? Thanks

I have been trying to get my Griz600 running right for 3 weeks ! Grandsons used it and it quit running , no spark ! New stator etc and started but ran terrible ! Found a burnt capacitor on cdi . Installed used cdi and burnt it also but ran same as other cdi . Came to conclusion wire harness had short so stripped it and found some bad spots fixed and another cdi ran terrible again ! Bought another harness and same rough running ! Checked spark timing with light (put tdc mark on case and on pull start hub) and when it starts timing right on but will jump 25+° retard ! When timing is on tdc marks it has no power ! The stator is new but I am wondering if the pickup coil is triggering incorrectly ? Also had top end apart when I first started having trouble and although rings were good I installed new rings . Also new timing chain and check the valves , they were good also . It kind of seems to boil down to the last stator I installed new ? I have done trouble shooting on quite a few cars , trucks , dirt bikes and ATVs but this is frustrating me ! Just wondering if anyone has any ideas ? Carb was new last yr and I checked it ! I IMG_4379.MOV

IMG_4272.MOV Originally had my griz600 stop running and then wouldn’t start ! After testing all coils , valve lash , compression (115psi) and all tested ok I bought a used cdi . After cdi install it still wouldn’t start (no spark) ! So even though the stator , pulse/trigger and charge coils check within good range I decided to switch the stator etc ! It started but It is very unresponsive on throttle and acts like it is running in 2 Different spark timing ! With slight throttle it will take off good but instantly go into a very different running mode with no power like timing very retarded but it will switch back to running good for short period then bad again ! Since I replaced the stator and it started I then decided to install the cdi I replaced and it did the same thing ! Also I noticed the Used cdi I Took off had a capacitor that had swelled and extruded from the back of the cdi . I had always heard and I believed that when these CDIs go bad they machine will quit and will not run . Is that true ? I also checked the cam/valve timing and its ok ! Checked with timing light and it does fluctuate on idle ! I am thinking I have 2 bad CDIs . I also switched the trigger Coil wires and would not start then . Man , this thing ran good before and I am confused ! Video below may help ! IMG_4272.MOV

I have a 97 Kawasaki Lakota 300 kef300a. It will not start. I have replace coil stator pulse generator and spark plug. Set timing and checked flywheel and am getting intermittent spark. Sparks once when starter engages and once when disengages. However, if I slowly pull the pull rope Sparks great. If I pull it normal it Sparks once. The cdi box and the kill switch are the only two things I haven't replaced but if I turn the switch to of no spark at all so I'm pretty sure it's working. Any ideas on what it may be?

Trying to help a friend with his 2004 Yamaha warrior 350... It wasn’t getting a spark so we replaced the spark plug, cdi box and coil. Have tested the kill switch, checked fuse, everything is good there. Monday (8-20-18) we installed a new stator and got spark, ran it around my trails for about half hour then put it up. Today (8-25-18) we went to go riding and it wouldn’t start, again getting no spark... can’t wrap our heads around what happened when we got spark back then a few days later nothing... any help would be greatly appreciated

my 2001 kawasaki bayou 300 4x4 has no spark. I replaces the spark plug and the ignition coil but still no spark. Can somebody tell me what to do to fix this.

2006 Artic cat 400 4x4 automatic transmission, no spark. Coil ignition assembly, spark plug (wire, boot) checked and replaced. Still nothing, ideas?

Grandson has an Eton thunder 90cc that has no spark. It would run for about 5 minutes and then shut off just like turning off a switch. Now i can get no spark. I have replaced the Stator, CDI< COIL AND PLUG. hAVE RUN OUT OF THINGS TO TRY. Mechanics that i know are all stumped. All that has not been replaced would be the Resistor and Rectifier could one of these be the problem? Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

so i got a 2000 yamaha bear tracker 250 and when i first got it, it ran fine once u finally got it started. well i narrowed that down to the intake tube was too long so i got oem parts and fixed that hoping bam there goes that problem well i get it all put back together and all of the sudden it will crank but no fire off. so i remove the spark plug to make sure im getting fire and no dice so i put a new spark plug in and still no fire. so electrical problem but im lost as to where to start. or how to test any of the electrical parts leading to the spark plug. please help i would sure like to get this thing running for my three year old for christmas. thanks in advance.
