well now that i got my warrior, my man had to get an offroad toy, so he traded his drz for a 2007 raptor 700. This thing is crazy ...... but luckily while mine is still in a gagillion pieces since it has become a project quad, this thing will help tie me over ......

before and after pics of my warrior project will be put up later on

Hey guys, that's my new toy right there :)

I had an 04 Raptor 660 which I got at the end of 03. The 700 is such a nicer, more refined feeling machine, it's suprising! I can't wait to get some new bars and tires on it. That's the only thing it needs. I don't find myself drooling over a wider axle and motor power adders with the 700 like I did with the 660.

So there is a big difference between the 660 and 700? I was hoping sometime to find a 660 kinda cheap but if the 700 is a lot better. I may just hold on to my pennies. :coolgleamAc:

Hold on to all of your pennies and get the 700 if you can.....the 660 is a nice quad but the 700 is worth the extra money if you are going to get a Raptor.

isn't it great :) i really kinda miss that feeling sometimes. you have to trust them and their skills soooo much. when i first started learning how to ride and about quads, nick would do wheelies with me on the back and i'd be scared out of my mind....but now looking back, its the crazy stuff like that we did together that made me love him :)

wow, how sappy was that:Angel_animc::bouncing_smiles:

So Lildaisygrl18....how do you like riding on a true sports quad? Just wondering if you are already thinking about trading in the warrior when yall get it back together.....not knocking the warrior but I am more parcial to my sport quads over my Grizzly.

Why would she trade the warrior in already?

Just going by the comment at the first of this posting of how this Raptor is crazy and wondering if the sport quad bug has bitten her yet.....It would be real hard for me to get rid of my Grizzly but there is no way I could get rid of my sport quads.

you feel more love for a quad that has your sweat and tears in.....I'm probably going to cry when I get a new one..I love my pink and black baby....I've done so much to make her my own.

But someday....I'll need more powerrrrrrrr =)

You do realize the Warrior is a RWD, manual clutch, 6-speed, a-armed, straight axle, four wheeler right? It's not a race quad (and neither is a raptor), but it is a sport quad by all definitions.

      Hi all,
Looking for some help on a starter/bendix issue. Can Am outlander 450 2017. While cranking to start, the starter spins and engages into the ring gear. After a few seconds the bendix retracts while still spinning and there is no damaged teeth on the drive pulley.

      Hello all!
I was given a 2000 Suzuki Quadrunner 500 (Quad 500 Runner?) and its current state is a bit of a mystery!
Kept indoors but hasn't been run in 5 years.  We're not trying the engine until the gas is replaced, and the tires are reinflated. But the previous owner said their only issue was stalling when shifting to reverse without giving some throttle.
      I'm optimistic!  See y'all around!

I recently purchased a raptor 80 for my grandson for  christmas. I am trying to make sure it is running properly. i have rebuilt the carb and adjusted the carb idle then the mixture to middle of where it runs rough and it runs great for about a min or 2. then it stalls out. I can usually choke it and it will start so i feel it is lacking fuel. the fuel shutoff valve has been changed and i checked it for good fuel flow.  any ideas of what to check next. I am planning to vfy fuel float height tomorrow. I visually checked it by turning carb upside down when i had it apart and it looked level. any ideas are appreciated.

      Thanks.

A few weeks ago, I foolishly asked my girlfriend about a quad that's been sitting under a tree at her parents' place for 25 years... This thread will be a sort of log of my attempt to resurrect it. I'm actually a computer guy, not a mechanic, so this will be quite conical for some of you, I'm fairly sure 🤣
So far I've found out it's likely a 200. Not sure what year yet... The frame has a serial of 53J-001343 (I think). Engine appears to have the same number.
We inflated the tyres on Saturday, which were still up today, so that seems a win. This also confirmed that the wheels do turn, as it rolled back into its 25 year old indentations as the 4th tyre started coming up.
Oil looks used but otherwise OK. I'll change it if I actually get it running, but looks good enough for attempting to start it up again.
Fuel tank had.... something in it. It smelt more like old stagnant water than fuel of any sort. Drained that out and flushed some clean fuel through to be sure.
Fuel tap was jammed in the off position. WD40 and some force got it free. Did that after the fuel hose was off, so hopefully the carb isn't full of whatever it was in the ttank.
Engine turns fairly easily with the rope start. Made typical exhaust puffing sounds.
Unfortunately the rope mechanism was not fully rewinding, so I was limited to about half its length... And today it jammed fully pulled out. I attempted to remove the rusty screws, but one stripped it's head out. So for now the rope rewind is jammed.
Spark plug connector seems possibly burnt inside. Black crap on both the plug and up in the connector, and the connector doesn't seem to actually stay on.
Throttle lever is stuck fast. See photo for possible reason... Cable also feels jammed. I assume the throttle itself is jammed. That'll be fun given my skill level.
Electrical stuff all seems dead. No headlights. No starter. No indicator lights. Could be a fuse. Could be bad connection. Not something I'm too worried about at this point.
Front brake handle works. Parking brake clip thing was bent out of shape, but that's now fixed and working. Front brake only works on one wheel. Other one seemed rusted in place (off). WD40 and hammer got it free, although still stiff. Cable might be broken as it doesn't move at all when the handle is pulled.
Rear foot brake works but needs adjusting.
Other handlebar lever doesn't budge. Not sure if that's a clutch lever or rear brake... If this is the 200 version, I gather it's got a centrifugal clutch so it would be a brake lever... But I'm not yet sure exactly which model I'm working with. And the cables all disappear under the plastics and fuel tank and I didn't bother trying to trace where it goes yet.
Thats probably about it for this post.
