I purchased a quad with engine problems. The previous owner had pulled the motor and pulled the valve cover but decided to stop. I have done Arctic Cat top ends before but have never worked on the bottom end so any advise would be appreciated. What I have found so far is the connecting rod bearing is completely gone and some scoring on the jug walls. What i'm wondering is if anybody here has worked on these and if so did you replace all the bearings or just the ones that were for sure bad? Also is the 2006 Suzuki King Quad 700 motor exactly the same? It seems Suzuki parts are a lot cheaper to buy.

So you bought it with the motor out and apart? Where are you now with it, is the motor on a bench? Sounds like some cylinder honing and oversized piston rings.

At that point, I would take it to a machine shop for small engines and have them check it out.

The motor was out but not apart. I currently have it completely disassembled and plan on getting the cylinder replated. I am also going to get the connecting rod replaced and plan on changing crank bearings.

It’s a Suzuki engine. I have the ArcticCat 700efi 07’ model and cross checked most engine parts to be exactly the same as Suzuki LT-A700 engine from 05-07. Bought most parts from the Suzuki dealer. Just finished my top end rebuild with a Suzuki jug on this 07’ arctic cat. Hope your rebuild goes well.

BTW, there are a number of fantastic machine shops online offering Nikasil refurb plating and oversized jugs for less than 300$ with core replacement. They ship to you within a week, you ship the core back and get refunded. Great options with these bikes. Use the LT-A700 model, jug is the same.

I have a 2009 Honda Rancher TRX420FA with shifting problems.
Usually it shifts ok when cold but after couple minutes it will stop shifting with no codes.
The 1st shift clutch oil pressure when in first gear is 74psi. The 2nd shift clutch oil pressure when in second gear is 74psi.
The 1st shift clutch oil pressure when in neutral is zero. The problem is when the tranny is in neutral the 2nd shift clutch pressure starts around 10-15psi and builds to 20psi. Is this normal?

Hi guys, I was given a 2000 Honda Recon fourtrax 250 (I think that's the full name lol). The previous owner had it sitting for a while before I got it. It sat for another few years in my ownership. I got it up and going on its first test drive today!! I was wondering where everyone buys their parts from?  Coming from the car community, we have sites like RockAuto and many more. Anything like that for quads? Also would like to be pointed in a direction, if possible, for plastics. I am missing a few and would like to have it complete. I appreciate any input!

Good morning, I am new to the forum. I'm 75 years old and love getting ATVs back to usable condition. I particularly like the 2006-2009 Arctic Cat 250 Utility. I currently own 6. The 2006 I am working on only has reverse and low gear. The "drive shaft" in the transmission is completely stripped where the high gear would mesh. Has anyone on here replaced the shaft. I'm told I have to split the case. I was hoping that someone on here could let me know how hard it will be. I already have it stripped down to where the shaft coming in from the clutch side is the only thing left. I was hoping I could just remove the driven clutch and drive it out from there. Directions say different. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought a 1984 Suzuki LT185 ATV and am looking for the OWNER’S manual. ( not a service manual)
I contacted Suzuki Canada but they have no paper or digital copies in their archives.
Does anyone possibly have a digital copy they’d be willing to share?
