I have a 2001 Honda Foreman that is 2WD. I was considering purchasing a snow plow for it to plow snow in our driveway this winter. A few people have told me that a 2WD will not be able to plow snow. Before I purchase (or not purchase) a plow, I thought I would get some feedback from those of you with more experience.

I don't intend on trying to plow 2-foot deep snow, but I was hoping that my 2WD would be able to clear up to 6-8 inch deep snow. Also, my driveway is about 100 feet long with about the last 50 feet declining slightly to the road.

Thanks for the feedback.

Before I got the old 4x4 Foreman, I used a tractor to plow with. It was 2 wheel drive and had 12 inch car tires on the rear. I would think an ATV with aggressive tires on the rear would do OK. The tractor was also slow, with the ATV you could keep your speed up a little.

I plow snow with an 02 Ozark. I put a 60 lbs weight on my trailer hitch. I plow out about 12 driveways , up hill and down hill . No problems. Just have to plan ahead in deep snow. Also not a very big fan of tire chains unless you get alot of ice.

Well you should have a true 2wd with the straight axle so you are up on most little tractors, your tires are already probably much better also. Besides the weight, so if you keep some rear weight that would help much.

The time I see you might have an issue is in deep wet snow. Probably stick with a 42" or smaller size blade.

I had a quadsport with a home made plow. It was way heavy & when I was 16 barely weighed 150 lbs it didn't work so well. but with a lighter design plow & the extra weight you'll geter done.

So we are almost a month into winter and I've been so busy working on my house that up until today, I didn't realize that we just haven;t gotten any real snow yet to warrant putting the plow on my grizzly. So that got me thinking, what are the latest plows out there and what ATV plows are the best? I've got 2 snow plows for my grizzly, a quadboss pile driver atv plow set up and a snowsport ATV plow. They are both a bit dated now and I tend to stick with the snowsport due to ease of use and I just like it so much. So if you have a plow on your ATV, please let us know what it is and post a picture with your atv/plow would be awesome. Would also like to know what you like and dislike about it.
This is back a while when I did a write up on these 2 plows.... in 2009 I got the snowsport and in 2012 I got the quadboss.

I’ve got a 2000 400ex with a dg slip on muffler, it came with he stock muffler on it but the previous owner had the dg in a box so I put it on. I’ve been riding it for the past month and a half and every time I let off it backfires, and the other day the backfires got way louder, 2x louder! I’m concerned that I may hurt my motor? Why does is backfire??? Thanks

My name says it all. I have a '03 Honda Sporttrax 400EX with a new aftermarket carb on it that seems to be having issues. I can start it but it idles really rough and when I give it throttle it just kills the engine. I have tried adjusting the idle screw but to no avail. I am in the San Diego Ca area.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I would also like to get an owners manual for the thing too but can't seem to find a downloadable one.
