Does anybody have factory painted plastics?

If so, what are the pros and cons of paint?

Do you like the paint better than regular plastic?

How does it hold up?

If you were to buy another rig tomorrow, would it have paint or not?

Thanks for all the info...

In my opinion....Its better to Restore your plastic than Spray Bomb it...Its more labor intensive but the End Result is they look almost new....I wouldnt want something that looked like a VOD......

Victim Of Distance....:wink::huh:

I havent personally used paint on bedliner but I immagine it would be better because you could get it thicker and still have the texture, you want it to be thicker on plasic.

Just degrease/clean the plastic then sand it down, you can use a pretty rough grit with bedliner because it is textured so sanding smooth is not important. Plus the rougher sand will hold on to the bedliner a lot better!

I guess if your a every once and awhile rider the painted plastic is fine...but if your a ride every weekend kind of guy like me...I say get regular plastic. Paint is going to chip and scratch off....

I have to agree. I have a Thundercat with the painted plastics, and although it can be shined up nice, it just can't handle the abuse a quad sees. Where I scraped the rear fender on a tree, I now have an area with the paint scraped off. With colored plastics you just end up with a scrape. I also did a rather nice back flip, the result of which is was a some nice spiderwebs in the paint that wanted to flake. You have to fill them with touch up paint so they don't keep spreading. It's a pain. I wouldn't recommend painted plastics, but sometimes you don't have a choice if you want a particular model.

The TCat as well as MudPro, and a few other Arctic Cat models have factory painted plastics. It's an automotive style finish, but able to flex quite a bit. It just won't handle an impact. For repairs I just use Arctic Cat's touch up paint to fill in the cracks and open edges so the pressure washer won't keep flaking it off.

      having an issue with the unit when running under a load up a hill or in high gear, seems like the belt is slipping, there is a clapping sound coming from the primary clutch like it releases and snaps back in. i don't think I should have a noise like that. this is a friends unit and he has already replaced the primary twice with the same result.
      not sure where to look next

      My friends KQ 300 starts fine and runs, as soon as you put it in gear and try to accelerate its bucks and farts like crazy, not moving... I cleaned carb and it worked good for 1 day... now back to same problem.... could it be such as a bent valve????

      Hi all,
      Looking for some help on a starter/bendix issue. Can Am outlander 450 2017. While cranking to start, the starter spins and engages into the ring gear. After a few seconds the bendix retracts while still spinning and there is no damaged teeth on the drive pulley.

      If you had to choose one mod that you couldn't live without, or had to recommend one what would it be?

      Howdy y'all, I'm trying to fix a neighbors 2015 Brute Force 300. Came in with hard to start and won't idle except on choke issue. I pulled the carb and found the pilot jet as well as the emulsion tube partially clogged. Cleaned up everything, put it back together, still having issues...  It will start right up on choke and will also start off choke if you give it just a touch of throttle but it absolutely will not idle unless it's choked just a touch. Also, excuse my ignorance but I'm assuming the "dial" thingy attached to the carb that turns in and out is for setting idle??
