2004 Suzuki Vinson Battery Dies

Recommended Posts

guy that had it before me had a bad battery in it but he could still ride it on pull start and did for like 2 weeks and i got it and put a brand new battery in it and within a week it was dead found out it was to small of a battery for the wheeler and got another new one and still does it i checked the voltage on the battery with the wheeler running and it steadily drops voltage off the battery and if you rev it up it sucks it even faster but the stator is working correctly i already checked that, any ideas???

What's your voltage while it's running? Make sure all your wires are connected and that you have no breaks anywhere..ground, etc.

while it's running with a charged battery from about 13 volts it just steadily starts dropping immediately and rev the engine it drops even faster and eventually it will get so low that it just stalls out and wont run but if you check the stator its putting off the right voltage

ide go with with ajm said check all the wires sounds like you have a short someplace thats not letting the power get from the stator to the battery. If you have a service manual or someone here may know find out what color the wire is from the stator to the battery and follow that check for cuts or broken wires or crappy connectors.

You could have bad battery cables, and/or a faulty voltage regulator/rectifier.

ahhh well thank you guys not only was the rectifier not letting and voltage pass but the connection before it on the stator had rusty connections so it also wasn't letting voltage pass, see sometimes when u just can't think of anything else someone here will think it for you instead lol

I have permission to ride 60+ acres that vary in technical aspects. Let's make something happen. We have off street parking and it's a ton of fun.

New to the site and I'm looking for some places to (LEGALLY) ride. I know a few places not too far from me but getting caught and over 1k in fines and criminal trespassing charges isn't on the top of my list.

With this cold snap, I noticed yesterday that the battery on my grizzly was a little weak. even clicked a few times before I got it to start. I'm thinking of picking up a batter tender/ trickle charger so was wondering what people use to keep their ATV battery charged up. I was looking at these on amazon. They both have good reviews.

So I have a Honda Fourtrax 300 year 1988. The ignition doesn’t start it with no sound. The headlights won’t turn on. It has a brand new charged battery, fuses are good, oil is good, gas is good, reverse is rusted, it shifts good, won’t jumpstart but when you try it will turn over, it will start if you jump the solenoid give it gas and spray starter fluid on the breather but it won’t stay on long but will stay on for the little time it does by itself. I don’t know what’s wrong and I need help!

So i was riding the other day and my quad randomly shut off. It started back up and ran completely fine for a little while and then it started idling terribly.
I cleaned the carb and changed all the jets and everything except the float due to the rebuild kit not coming with one and it actually runs worse then it did before.
It will run and idle decent now but when I give it gas it dies.
Does anybody know what could be wrong?
I also changed the spark plug and air filter along with the oil and oil filter.

Hi, does anyone know where to find the timing marks on the camshaft and how to orient them? I found the line on the crank and lined it up with the arrow on the case, but the only marks I can see on the cam are on the very end where the black plastic cap is. Are these the timing marks and if so how do you line them up?

I went out to ride my quad today. When I started it up it ran for a minute, then died. Since then it will turn over but won't start. I've check the spark plug and get great fire. I have had this quad for about 6 months, and very new to breaking it down. But need help. Thanks
