2005 Yamaha Warrior 350 Engine Cuts Out

Recommended Posts

i just got this 2005 350 warrior on a trade for some work i did. the first problem is the ignition switch was taken out. but my biggest issue that i have is that it will start up and run for maybe a min. if i m lucky then it shuts right off no matter if u keep on the throttle or not, mow when it starts i can throttle it up and keep it going for maybe a min. more but it still dies and it wont start again till it cools off or it feels like it. everything is stock and it only has about an hour worth of run time, they guy i got it from it was his kids and he drove it a little and then put it in the shed and that was it, father got it and cut out the ignition switch to get it running and couldnt, so here i am, stuck and have no clue where to start. anyone who can help and point me in the right direction would be great.thanks:confused:

thanks guys for the help im going to try and check the spark or fuel problem first then take the carb. off and clean in out and see what happens after that. i was thinking about the carb. getting gummed from sitting dont know why i didnt follow my gut and check it.

two more questions will not having a ign. switch cause any issues with this? and

will a bad battery or anything cause this problem as well?

thanks for all the help, ill see what i can come up with and let u know,

thanks again

to the guys that helped me thanks alot. i took the carb. apart and all the jets and ports were rusted closed and the float was stuck. after cleaning it all out and making everything shinny new i finally got her up and running and was able to ride her but im getting a hesitation when slowly taken off and i get a backfire popping out of the muffler when letting off the throttle. im thinking it needs a new plug and more run time but any idea would help. thanks again for your guys help already

So I have an 89 Yamaha moto 4 250cc and when I ride it, itll get hot after like 10-15 mins and then will just die and turn off.
It's has new carb rebuild, new air filter, new battery, new spark plug so I don't think it's a crack in the spark plug
      Can anyone help me?

I just acquired a 1994 Timberwolf 250 2wd. Drove fine at seller’s property. Got home, I started it, put it first gear, shifted to reverse, backed out of trailer, moved reverse shifter back forward, then nothing. Throttle revs but doesn’t go anywhere. The shift lever doesn’t really feel like it’s going through gears. I can roll it manually forever so I’m pretty sure it’s in neutral, but no neutral light. Then I decided to try reverse again, and, it goes into reverse. And drives in reverse. But as soon as I take it out of reverse, it rolls freely again. I can’t get it into any forward gear. The seller has owned it for 20 years (60 year old man). He didn’t have a manual so I’ve ordered a Clymer (I’m old school paper in my hand reader). Outward appearance is very good. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have an 04 Yamaha Kodiak 450 that I recently got running. When I got it, I noticed it was missing the right headlight wiring connector that the lightbulb goes into and plugs into the wiring harness. I bought a replacement, a Chinese generic part. When I first connected it, it worked fine so I didn't think much about it. A few days later, I went to move my bike after it got dark, I turned the lights on and that side didn't have low beam but had high beam. I thought maybe the light blew or something. The next day I go look at it, still no low beam. While I had the lights on, I started noticing smoke. I no l immediately shut everything off and ripped the wiring off the bike. The wires were completely fried! Thankfully this happened when I wasn't riding, and had the rack and front cover off so I noticed it immediately.
I wanted to give you the backstory on what all happened. To give warning to others who have purchased these cheap harnesses and to ask this:
After all that happened and I was thinking on it, it made me wonder if this happened to the previous owner and that was why there wasn't one on the bike when I got it. What should I look for that could possibly be overloading that part or what? Anyone have any ideas?

      Hello,
I have a 2022 Honda Rubicon and I have an issue where it won’t start, when I turn the key for power nothing lights up and it won’t start but the lights will turn on with the light switch, I’ve checked all fuses and they’re good, I don’t have a wiring schematic I’m not sure where to start, I checked the ignition fuse when I turn the key on and there’s no voltage there, I used a jumper wire from the batter to the top of the ignition fuse and then it works fine and starts fine but as soon as I turn the quad/key off it won’t start again until I jump the ignition fuse with battery power, just wondering if anyone could give me some tips where to go with this or if anyone has had the same issue, thank you.

I have a rancher 420 TM that since i bought it has a cold hard shift problem beyond a doubt clutch is not releasing by shift lever. After it gets good and hot it shifts ok. Tried preloading adjustment screw clutch releases and shifts smooth but slips. Have had the clutch out and apart twice for inspection and didnt see anything wrong. Any tips will be appreciated. I've ran out of things to try instead of throwing new parts at it.
