  1. Okay so I need a little help just picked up a brand new 2012 yfz450 carb model being that it was a left over I thought my cutting out issue was bad fuel but even after draining the tank and putting fresh gas in it after riding for about 20-30 min in the trails if I hit the throttle wide open it cuts out bad (doesn't die though) it won't even climb hills and the one time it was so bad my buddy beat me on a stock 300ex my yfz is completely stock no mods at all and I have tried taking it back to dealer but since it mainly is after some trail riding they can not replicate the problem someone plz help I've only been able to ride this for one tank of gas being its running like chit and have to turn home at big hills my buddys chit quads climb right up
  2. HeyI am working on a friends 2004 Suzuki 500 vinson. It would not run so I took the carb apart and clenaned passages and jets and soaked carb overnight. Put machine back together and it started right up and ran great for 1/2 hr then it will sputter and stall. Wait a few hrs and the same thing happens. I took the spark plug cap off cut a 1/4 inch off and re installed the cap. It has a new spark plug in the machine. I cleaned a screen in the fuel line also. It seems like the coil heating up and shorting out or not enough fuel getting to the carb although draining the carb there is plenty of fuel. Any ideas and thanks in advance.
  3. i just got this 2005 350 warrior on a trade for some work i did. the first problem is the ignition switch was taken out. but my biggest issue that i have is that it will start up and run for maybe a min. if i m lucky then it shuts right off no matter if u keep on the throttle or not, mow when it starts i can throttle it up and keep it going for maybe a min. more but it still dies and it wont start again till it cools off or it feels like it. everything is stock and it only has about an hour worth of run time, they guy i got it from it was his kids and he drove it a little and then put it in the shed and that was it, father got it and cut out the ignition switch to get it running and couldnt, so here i am, stuck and have no clue where to start. anyone who can help and point me in the right direction would be great.thanks:confused:
  4. I posted a question last fall to try a figure out why my '05 raptor 660 runs so poorly after a local shop worked on it. They insalled the jet kit and cdi. It starts cutting out past about 3000 rpm. It feels like it is starving for fuel. Does not cut out at exactly the same rpm but close. If you play with the throttle (ease into it back and forth a little) it will eventually rev up but still cuts out when you hammer it!! This only happens when riding it... in neutral it revs straight to govener with no hesitation. ADD ONS gytr jet kit k&n filter D&G exhaust(slip on) CDI box (Ricks motorsports hot shot) THINGS I HAVE TRIED replace cdi box new jets- stock runs 140 & 145, shop installed 145 & 150, I installed 150 & 155 (dual carbs) Adjusted air fuel mix a thousand times!!! removed parking brake saftey switch tested coil THEN I GAVE UP!!! SO DID ALMOST ALL THE SHOPS IN TOWN!!!!

Hi Guys my ATV keeps cutting out on me during races this is normaly when im on a straight and have it wide open and when I slow down to take the turn or jump it cuts on me so i have to pull in clutch and release to kind of kickstart the bike again which in turn makes me lose time. any ideas why its doing this?
  6. I'm putting this in the Suzuki section because my machine is essentially a Suzuki LTZ400and there's more traffic/knowledge in this section. (moved into Arctic Cat Forum..by ajmboy) I have a 2007 Arctic Cat DVX400 and I recently installed a Pro Design tether kill switch-normally closed(I think;it grounds when tether is pulled)and a Procomm cdi box(+1K rpm & different ign curves).I installed the kill switch as directed(one wire to ground and one wire to trigger positive) and I richened the a/f mix screw as a precaution.I went and rode a couple hard,high rpm test rides and it started cutting out and died.It was very hard to restart and when it does restart it sounds as if a valve is sticking open and it doesn't want to rev for a little while.I got worried and reinstalled my oem cdi and it does the same thing.It runs fine at low/mid rpm and doesn't make any strange noises either.What do you think I screwed up?Please help;thankyou

  8. I have an '05 raptor 660 purchased a year ago that my girl rides. Over the winter i had a yamaha dealer install a gytr jet kit, cdi box. I also installed a k&n filter, and d&g exahaust all around the same time. Now it seems that when i hit around 5 grand the rev limiter kicks in??? sounds like it? The box does not have and adjustible rev limit. It has great power up until it starts cutting out. I pulled the spark plug, looks normal, replaced it anyways. Filter is clean. Don't know where to go from here!!!!!! It didn't do this before the "upgrades". ANY IDEAS ?????
