If you use a good clear coat, it will last roughly aslong as paint on a car. It can be waxed or buffed aswell. I will get going on this soon and update you guys on the parts I'm doing.

When I had my Grizzly, I had the fenders Hydro-dipped. :partyc:

Had it for 2 or 3 yrs like that before I sold it. It held up great ... except if you scrapped the fenders hard up against rocks, like at Moab ... but even then, it looked way cool. :woot:

Check out these photo's ... :seeyac:

I would say for a full set of sport quad plastics, it'd be around $600. So, roughly $200-250 more.

Close. I paid $600 for the front & rear fenders, gas tank cover & 4 fender flares. I then had to buy some new decals & heat shielding. :bannana_guitar:

Factory camo fenders alone where either $1300 or $1900, can't remember. :shock2:

A sport bike would be cheaper of course. But remember, with the Hydro-dipping you can get "CUSTOM" fenders .... :cheer: ... :cheer:

Sounds like a cool option for something no one else will have. If you add shipping to the price when you buy the plastics for a full size quad it can get expensive. I might try this some time instead of decals but for now the decals I had done are holding up great.

Unfortunately it looks like I have some people in my new neighborhood paying a little too much attention to my auto and for the first time I'm feeling a need to add some security system(s) to old yeller.  I think just a basic remote arm system would do, not interested at all in remote start or unlock.  I'm not familiar with modern alarm systems, but here's what I 'think' I need...
      - Door switches for all 5 doors (rear hatch).  Probably a PITA to install but that's only an initial idea.
      - 'Bump' alarm (not sure what it would be called) for if a window breaks or if something is jarred
      - Geo-location function like a low track or something similar
Additionally I'd like to install possibly 2 start kill switches.  I'm not sure where inline these are normally installed but my impression is that directly in line with the key ignition switch would be common.  But then what if someone jumps the starter with a screwdriver...would this type of switch work in that instance?  So that leads me to the idea of a second ignition kill switch which would either be wired between the battery and starter motor, or between the starter motor and ground.
      And last...security lugs.
So am I over thinking this here?  What's your recommendation for what I really need and maybe a good but economic alarm system that can get this done?

I have replaced the cracked stator cover on my non-running 2006 LT-F400F that I purchased recently, checked all the shafts vs the service manual and pics and advice here.  I replaced missing gears, bushings and washers, made sure that truth marks were all aligned properly, that the shift cam springs felt like they returned properly, etc.  IAfter installing the new stator cover I checked the transfer lever for proper movement from L-H-R and then cranked it up.  Happily, it runs and changes gears well in L,  but it will not shift into H or R for anything.  I have opened it back up and am going back through it looking for the missing puzzle piece(s) but how can I best check that I have everything right this time before buttoning it back up?

The small waterline insert for the hose that goes from the water pump cover to the thermostat housing has corroded off. I only need the insert on top and behind the thermostat housing that the hose goes over and can't find just the insert. It looks like it may be pressed in. I've have been told the entire motor housing needs to be replaced. The pic with the red line indicates where the hose and insert would be and the insert looks like the pic of the water pump  Any ideas would be really appreciated.

Just finished replacing water pump seals and impeller on my 97 Magnum 425 due to oil leak out of the weep hole. Haven't owned it very long and have only riden around the yard a couple times because I only recently got it. I installed a new bullet aluminum impeller and made sure the nut was tight and that thebimpeller was not spinning on the shaft. My oil leak is now fixed.

I filled the radiator and let it run. The motor seemed to be getting hot and the radiator fan never came on. Looking into the radiator its hard to tell if the coolant is circulating due to the vibration of the quad. Never looked down the radiator prior to pump rebuild so not sure how it compares now.

Think it could be a bad thermostat or air in the system? Is there a refill procedure? Any advise is appreciated!

I chased down the leak on my 97 Magnum 425. I have a nice leak coming from the water pump weep hole. I am being told the oil seal inside the pump needs to be replaced. Can anyone tell me what is involved in the repair. Can it be done without pulling the motor? Thank you!
