what year and cc motor is this bike?

some need a battery and some don't. i would start looking at your wiring and see if there is any broken wires and the connections are good. check and make sure the kill switch is in the run position too. i might have a manual for you if you tell us the year and size ...

Its a lt4wd 250cc not sure of the year what am I looking for in the vin

to figure year out

ok so ive decided at giving building a new cdi from scratch sence a new cost over 300 and you never know what your getting used so any tips would be very helpful ive got circuit testing software and looks like i have it working i just need to know the volts and hertz coming out of the w/l white and blue wire on the cdi thats going to the coil mine is dead so i cannot test it

most of these do not have to have a battery to have spark. the key things to look at are, the ignition switch and wiring, the kill switch and wiring, and of course the ignition components and wiring. it is a very simple system. there is a signal generator (which takes the place of points), a charge coil (to build electricity to make the spark), and the cdi box (which stores the energy and controls the spark timing), and an ignition coil. the source coil will generate around 60-110 volts, the pulse generating coil will generate about 1-1.7 volts, the rest is up to the box and ignition coil. the quick way is to check the ignition coil wires and see if you are getting voltage there when the engine is cranked. if you get upwards of 80 volts (ac), the rest of the system is working. the kill switches USUALLY ground out the current, but once in a while, you will find one that needs to be closed to complete the circuit. i can not remember any of the older Suzuki's using this style.

I have the same problem with mine only I don't even have the CDI module to start with I wanted to try and wire in one of the Chinese CDI boxes but my signal coil and my charge coil both have two wires coming out of them the Chinese CDI boxes I have I believe are designed to ground one end of each coil thereby leaving only a total of two wires coming out the charge and the pulse

i have never seen one of those. what i do know, is that it may get your quad to run, but it will NEVER run like it should, because every engine has its own ignition advance curve. and a generic CDI will have a generic curve, IF ANY. i KNOW CDI boxes are expensive, but it actually controls the way that the engine makes power. accurate timing is a must have just like accurate fuel mixture.

My uncle bought a Baja 250, 2006. Knew there was no spark since the get go. He don't know anything about quads so is getting me to help him try to get it running...

battery is bad so I connected battery charger to it to crank it over , cranks over well , but no spark ....
Lights and everything work fine , but with each crank over using the e start switch , the display reads 999 888 777 666 ... Right down to 000 and repeats itself .

He managed to get a parts bike , I changed over the CDI and the coil and the stator from the parts bike and there was another black box by the voltage regulator I changed over ... I used my multimeter to confirm as much as I could works , it's hard without knowing which wires are which , and I cannot find any diagrams online for this bike ?

Do you think it could be the Killswitch? There's so many wires coming from there I don't know where to start . Also I should mention it appears the fan on the front of the bike has been taken off (the wires have been cut too )

If this bike sparked it would run . The previous owner said he parked it one day and it just wouldn't start after.

I have a 1988 Quadrunner 250 2wd. My brother in law sold it to my son for $20...had been sitting outside for several years. Got it home and had it running in about 30 mins. Ran it a bit and then went to looking at the carb as it was having trouble idling. Was getting it pretty close, then started losing spark...Also, it wouldn't start up every time...only about 1 in 5 tries. Anyway...now, it has what I can only describe as "intermittent" spark. I can get 1 light spark right when the start button is pressed and sometimes one when it's released...but none while cranking. 🤷‍♂️

I have replaced the spark plug, ignition coil/wire, and traced wires best I can. I noticed a couple frayed wires at the pickup coil where it enters the case. So, now I have the cover off, stator and pickup coil out and trying to test the coil. I do have about 114 ohms resistance for pickup best I can tell. And I can read minute voltage when I drag a magnet across it. Could it still be bad? Can a bad ignition switch/button cause this? (I did have the switch off to oil the choke cable)...pulling rope makes no difference though...any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!!! It's the intermittent part that's throwing me off!

My friends KQ 300 starts fine and runs, as soon as you put it in gear and try to accelerate its bucks and farts like crazy, not moving... I cleaned carb and it worked good for 1 day... now back to same problem.... could it be such as a bent valve????

This is something I'm extremely curious about. Has anyone ever attempted to buy a quad (or any other vehicle) from an impound lot? I've always wondered if this could be a bargain, or a waste of time. Google searches do turn up some helpful results. Looks like the state of NJ holds auctions online which I'd be a bit hesitant about.

My online searches haven't really turned up any results of anyone buying an ATV this way. I'd be really curious if anyone tried this, or knows someone who has. I've actually found a couple pages with online auctions for my state, but none had ATVs.

My Yamaha Big Bear shifts through all the gears good, goes into reverse smoothly, but when i go to get out of reverse it takes a lot of effort to get it back to first gear, and even then it does not go very smoothly, have to pull up on the pedal really hard, anyone else ever had this problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
