Hey from Az.I bought a 2001 Polaris 500 Mag. 4X4 that wouldn't stay running,in fact I haven't ridden it yet.Just pushed it into the garage.This is all new to me,never owned a dirt machine before but have gone out into the desert on friends machines.Its absolutely a fantastic experience to go riding out there.So much to see.As well as on the forums here there is unlimited resources to help me get this bike up and running,thanks to all who contribute and make this possible.

BTW ... what exactly does your bike do ?? Will it idle ?? Does it die when warmed up ?? Does it die when ya give it gas ? Has it been sitting long before you bought it ?? :toetap05c:

I assume from it being a 2001 it has a carburetor ... if so ... it may be gummed up if it had been sitting around long before you bought it.

Might want to take the carb off & clean it up real good with carb cleaner. Check the needle & seat too.

Make sure gas is coming out of the fuel tank valve ... sometimes the screens inside the tank will get crap on it that will plug them up.

Check your spark & maybe change the spark plug too.

And check to make sure the air filter is clean ....

Welcome to QC Hank. theres lots of helpful people on here. If it was sitting outside a lot you might want to drain the gas tank. You might have gotten some water in it or the tank can get a gummy build up in it. also the carb is probably dirty and needs cleaned.

      2005 Bruin 350cc Oil pumping into airbox

      Hi guys. I have a problem where the quad will start and run well for about 5 minutes and then it dies. On inspection the airbox has oil in it (quite a lot). The oil is pumping through the cylinder head breather hose. This problem first happened suddenly. I have since done the top end including, piston, gaskets, rings and valves. I have also done the carb (not that I thought that this was the problem). The compression seems normal. The only thing that I can think of, is that I did not grind the valves well enough. Anyone experienced this? If so, how did you fix it? Any other thoughts?

      Hello I’m new here and was wondering is anyone knew of good replacement part numbers for front struts and rear shocks for this atv? I think I’ve found a new rear shock, that looks like the original but there is no dimensions or anything and was wondering if there are any afterMarket new front struts available. I know it’s a long shot but any help would be appreciated.

      1996 4x4 Timberwolf rearend width. Can someone with some knowledge of these machines answer this question for me please. Are all 4x4 timberwolves this narrow in the rearend? These tires are so close the right one actually rubs the muffler.  Thinking about seeing if there are any spacers out there for it. I need at least an inch more clearance.
