2000 King Quad 300 4X4 Shifting Issues

I was riding around the other night and it was shifting fine. No noises or anything....I stopped to pick up some stuff and then when in first gear it would rev so high and then it acted like it was in neutral. When the RPM's came back down it would engage 1st gear again. Reverse works fine. Any ideas??????????????????????????????????????????????

check the drive belt to see if it's worn. there is also a clutch adjustment. on yamahas, it is on the throttle side of the bike, looks like a nut with a slotted screw in the middle of it. not sure on suzukis, but it will be on the side of the motor/trans ...

Ok thanks I will take a look at that. This only has 370 miles on it.... sure hope belt didn't wear out that fast.

sometimes the belt will slip if it got wet too. most times if the belt is good, it will right itself. i would start there and see. easiest fix for sure ...

i think service manuals should come with all bikes. i have been lucky enough to find a bunch online to share with everyone.

Ain't that the truth, you drop 6-12K on something the least they can do is provide a service manual.
