  1. NJ and lower NY are tough for riding, I've gone further north into NY to ride. You can find trails here though, through power lines and wooded areas but more than likely you end up on someone's land. If the quad is registered, you'll get a fine and take it home. But if it's not registered and you get caught, it gets impounded. I keep my grizzly registered with NY plates and insured through allstate.

  3. Sounds like it could be the coil. They are cheap on Amazon, I would try and swap it out to see. * Added ATV year and manufacturer to topic title.

  4. Anytime you have starting issues, start by diagnosing the basics. Fuel and Spark. Remove the spark plug and give the hole a good wiff. Does it smell like gas? You should be getting fuel. Confirm this by disconnecting fuel lines to make sure the fuel is getting to the cylinder. Spark: You can remove the spark plug, put it back in the wire, and then hold the tip of the spark plug against the engine block. Make sure to scrap away any dirt on the area you touch the spark plug to so you have good metal to metal contact. Now hit the start button. You should be able to see the spark arcing on the plug.
