Sarah Palin is actually one of the reasons I got really into the political scene. I never much cared before to be honest....But now, I'm growing up and growing wiser. I think she's one tough cookie and I think her family is handling the pressure well. I think sometimes to often the people that sit in the offices governing this great nation are too perfect. Or, so they seem to be....but if everything in their life is perfect and none of them make mistakes, how do they really know what's happening here in everyday America?? It seems like weekly some sex scandal comes up involving some big name, Elliot Spitzer...Bill Clinton....and so on. How many men or women out there are having affairs? Plenty. How many pregnant teenage daughters out there? Plenty. Oh, and DUI's?? All too many of them also. I think Sarah not only brings a fresh face, but a good background history of overcoming things. She's got a very diverse background, which is what I truely like about her. She wasn't raised in a political household like Bush...she made it there on her own and with dignity. I just really like her and what she stands for. Have a great weekend everyone!!!!

:iagreec:totally. I watched Palin's speech the other night and I must say I was pretty impressed! I'm going to assume that celebrity moms can mostly be considered bad because they work and travel all the time. Especially those who are singers that tour? Just because a mom does not sit at home and devote 100% of her time to her children, that doesn't make her a bad mother. Many everyday America moms work a lot....what about those single moms who work two jobs to keep their children alive with food on the table. They can bust their butts working long hours around the clock to provide for their family, yet, because they're not with their children 24 hours a day they're bad?? Babies do require a lot of attention and have a lot of needs, but Trig Palin does have a dad, and I'm thinking he probably has a nanny that helps take care of him too. McCain/Palin definitely get my vote.

sooo got the quad back again today. we totally figured out the problem...the mesh screen in the oil tank thing was 95% plugged..... something so easy to fix cost me nearly 1500 bucks in two weeks.....oh well, stuff happens.

our mechanic that works on our stuff is a pretty trust worthy guy, i really believe when he says he has no clue what happened, that he really means it...andddd he's only going to be making like 50 bucks off us this time because of the labor, and he's not chargin us but the dealer cost on parts..... stuff happens...you just learn to live with it and get through it

for real, that stinks and I'm so sorry... I'm sure there are people in your position that are super mad at my mechanic cause he's backed up...buttt if you've read any of my racing threads then you know i've blown it up back to back the past two weekends nad he's dropped everythign to work on it and get me back on the track... I guess that's the good and bad about mechanics....my advice would be to find a trust worthy mechanic that you really like....be respectful and get to know him, we've done business with our mechanic since 2004....it helps building that kind of relationship, especially when you get in a bind like I'm currently in wiht mine.....and also, when you have a good relationship like that and end up dropping 1500 bucks at their shop in 2 weeks...they let you pay over the course of like a month or two, which really helps... I hope you can find someone like this!!! I've learned that all ATV/Bike mechanics are super busy and over worked. They'll treat you really well if you respect that about them...but I do agree that they shouldn't lie about things being done by a certain date/time and them not even starting the work....that's definitely a good way to lose business....

bahahah what a joke. it blew up again. all that money adn i got a lap on it...about 8 miles to be exact....we got home, did a compression test it was only at about 50 when it's supposed to be over a 100.... needless to say i sat on the side of the track and cried from being soo upset about spending all the money.... its now back at the shop and they're pretty much clueless as to why it happened, it had more than enough break time on it....so we're getting new piston & rings put in and this time instead of boring it we're honing.....andddd the guys feel so bad for me, they're giving me dealer cost on parts and only charging me a quarter of the labor charge per hour..... we're racin it supercross style this weekend, as i should have it back either tonight or tomorrow... but you can bet she'll sit in the yard idling for a half hour before we do anythign wtih it......not taking anymore chances..... and, on top of all that, i busted my nerfs in half when they caught on a rock that first lap...bahaha, just my luck....

great ideas everyone....i really think they'd all make great contests!!!!!! each one seems to fit an area of quad riding in a different way...this month I couldn't enter because I don't really ride any trails/areas that are open to public.....so with all of them being so diverse I think it's a great way to get everyone on the site involved!

totally agreed Bot, I LOVE my 400, my husband has the 450 and I hate riding it. It seems wayyyy to tempramental...but on my 400 I don't have reverse...that's something I'd like to get in the future for it, a new bottom end w/reverse... buttttt we just picked the motor up last night....the grand total: $1245.00:cry::bangheadc::willy_nillyc::ack2c::eek2::soapbox::shock2:

bahahahah Bot, good one i LOVE the race idea and best injury/scar too! everyone's coming up with great ones.... i like the best gear one too, but we could do something just like best helmet??? just to give more ideas...i'll be thinking this weekend.... or what about a video contest?? is that a possibility? idk how everyone else would feel about that...just another wacky thought comin through my mind

aww thanks everyone....the motor is a 2000, but it was never really abused until i got it and started racing it...i've had it since the end of 2006 so I should consider myself lucky.....it just sucked that it had to happen at that race at that particular point...

so i've been really busy w/work so i haven't been on too much in the last week....but now i've finally got the chance!!! .....i blew my baby up last weekend at a race:frown: it started well....i got 2nd in the holeshot, and i passed the girl who was in first when she got stuck in a bottleneck of riders in a tree.... then the rain started and it was super muddy....thennnnnnnn, as i pulled in my clutch to slide through a sloppy muddy corner...bam. she stalled. talk about being super upset, it was the first time i was ever going to lead a lap in this stinkin' series....quite an accomplishment for me, as this is my first year racing and they've been racing 4-5 years..... anywho....we got the motor out and took her to our local shop and found out....the piston shattered:frown: so...she's still at the shop, getting all kinds of new parts...and nearly $1100 later, I'll have a newly rebuilt motor for this weekends race....
