i LOVE my nerfs, they've saved my life..but sometimes they do cause some problems...like that one race i somehow fell off to the side and got my leg stuck between the nerf and the tire and then got ran over......that hurt....but i guess thats what they make the heel guards for.... every now and then you'll snag something in the woods, but not too often for me not to want to use them. I'd never race without them.

if i were you, i'd keep it for spare parts orrr part it out, i bet you'll get more money that way....im not sure if it's big around you but you can try posting it on craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums ....it was big in nashville, but here in ny hardly anyones heard of it... just a thought...hope you make out ok with this.

i agree Bot, KUDOS to you! Good to know our drtygrl's ok I stayed on all fours today at the race, but, I did get slammed in the rear end by a pro rider when i was simply moving out of his way to let him pass me, he slammed me into a tree. which got me stuck, then he had to help me get out to be able to pass me. people are absolutely stupid sometimes. it seems like if they've got a motor between their legs they feel like they can do anything. jerks.

yeahhh that was a log section like Bot's going through.....caught the back tire on the top of a log and nearly flopped end over end....

well this weekend neither of us broke anything, nick bent his rim in but was able to beat it back out with a rock when he got to the creek section..... finished 3rd outta 5 girls, with the rim problem, nick finished 9th out of 27 riders in the a class...too bad he was leading when he bent it

yes. and no. if you don't break much then not tooo much, when you break a lot, it costs a lot. with two of us racing, it gets pretty expensive, and now that gas prices are higher...here's a breakdown of what we will spend this weekend, we leave Saturday afternoon, camp Sat night and race Sunday: *Diesel in the truck to get there: $100 bucks roughly *Gas in the wheelers to race: $40 bucks....yea, I can't believe it's that much either. Just to ride it costs that much. *Food/drinks for the weekend: $50 bucks or so *Gate Admission: $14 bucks ($7 bucks a person, but...this goes up at National events) *Race Admission: $50 bucks ($25 a piece, this also goes up at Nationals) So race weekends we spend about $200 bucks.... but....that's not including anything thats broken or just general maintenance. We both just busted our bumpers and got new ones from PRM, we've found they really do last the longest, but spent $235 bucks on two of them....my husband needed new swing arm bearings this week...that's another 50 bucks...and now last night when we were getting things ready we found the swing arm is cracked so we're going to have to buy one of them now. SO, it does get expensive....but, at the same time, we don't go out and eat, we dont go to the movies, we dont go partying on the weekend. All the money most people spend on that kind of stuff goes towards racing for us. It's what we love Someday maybe you'll see one of our names in the magazinesssss!!! Ohh..and I forgot to mention, sponsors help. Even if they give you just discounts on products, it really helps, you'd be surprised how much 50% off on goggles makes a difference. Anything helps.
