1999 Yamaha Wolverine rear output shaft seal leak
swampcat07 replied to tssetmr's topic in Yamaha ATV Forum
Make sure the shaft does not have any up and down/ side to side play. That can mean a warn bearing. Also take some steel wool and clean the surface of the shaft where the seal meets with the shaft to remove any sharp material. Just lightly you do not want to reduce the od of the shaft. Also if the fluid heats up a lot the fluid can be forced past the seal. Make sure the vent line to the rear diff is also open (if there is one) to alleviate any pressure. -

Suzi will be borrn to our family by wednesday :)

Clean it really good, check all the bolts and suspension parts for wear. Then make sure the frame does not have any defects. This way you do not have to worry about a tie rod end going out at 60mph when you are trail riding. This may be something you can put off until the winter but I would give it a good look over. -

That makes it really easy to put new product out and take it in at the end of the day. Cool idea. -
