  1. if it wasnt fried before. thats what i thought he was going to do use a blow dryer or a heat gun. but i have a feeling the ecm was the problem before this happened i think the fuel pump shuts off after it starts which is making it stall
  2. hmm sounds possible. i know for sure now that the computer is fried litterally but im not sure if that is or was the only problem im hoping it is. my friend figured that if the computer was not working due to moisture getting in it some how (submerging the four wheeler) that he could get the moisture out by heating the ecu in the oven. i didnt know what temp. he did it on until after the fact but it was baked at 250 degrees for a little while. he said he plugged it in and it actually ran for about 30 seconds rather than just stalling after 5 seconds. but anyways seeing that it some what improved we thought that we should do it again. so we did and now it doesnt start at all. yes i know it was dumb to do this. he didnt just make up this idea his dad owns a generator repair business and he heats the computers of some of the generators and they start working again.
  3. meaning when you turn the key on the fuel pump relay clicks which means the pump is turned on and it puts fuel in the intake and then it is ready for start up. but after that initial start up it does not put any more fuel into it after the fact. if you keep cranking the four wheeler you will see the injector spraying fuel in but i guess it stops after the four wheeler starts which makes it stall.
  4. no i havn't checked fuel pressure with the new pump because i dont have a fuel pressure gauge i got it tested at a shop. it seemed to improve though because the four wheeler now at least starts and runs for a few seconds then shuts off and then puts the fuel injection light back on and stalls out.
  5. the injector sprays fuel now with the new pump. then once the fuel pump relay shuts off it stops and the the four wheeler stalls and then the fuel injection light comes on.
  6. i dont have any mods done to the engine the only thing the four wheeler has done to it at the moment is a snorkel kit. the bike has about 800- 900 miles sorry i dont kno the exact amount i dont remember its at my friends house right now. and it has around 120 hours.
  7. i also checked the compression of it a while ago it was good
  8. i forgot to mention that the four wheeler was running very lean before you could pull the spark plug out and it would be very white. and from what i hear they are supposed to run a little on the rich side. at this moment while i have been working on it the air box is off of it and everything so i dont think that could be the issue.
  9. My four wheeler when i first got it seemed like it was very slow when i first got it and it had no throttle response so i replaced the belt and cleaned all of the rollers thinking that would solve the problem from what i read on the forums. well it turned out that it wasnt. so i went to the next thing i took out the injector to check it out and i seen that there was a tiny bit of debree in it so i cleaned it and it seemed to improve a little bit. but still did not solve the problem. i later found out how to find the trouble codes out from the lcd screen using a paper clip on the diagnostic port and it showed the code which stood for no codes C00. i also forgot to mention that the throttle position censor is working perfect. before i started all of this the four wheeler ran just not to its potential. after my friend and i did the trouble code test the bike wouldnt even start anymore and the injector would spray for a few seconds for the start up then it stops and the fuel injection light comes on and blinks. the four wheeler wouldnt start anymore. i took it over to the local shop and they hooked it up to the computer to see if there was any codes and it still showed it was free of codes. they hooked it up to the fuel pressure gauge and we found that it was making 22 pounds and it should be making around 43. i then bought a new fuel pump and put it in. it now starts and runs for a few seconds and then it stalls out and the fuel injection light comes on again. which then leads me to think it is the ecu now but i want to be sure before i invest around $500 more into it. any opinions on whether or not anyone thinks this is the problem or if they have had a similar problem before would be really appreciated. sorry for writing a novel and not spelling very well. also i forgot to put the year in the title it is a 2007
  10. Need: King Quad 700 service manual sorry i forgot the year. its a 2007.
  11. you and me both have the same problem im pretty sure. PROFILL explained it so well. i have a fully snorkeled kq and the intake snokel for the belt i found out was disconnected at a lower point in the four wheeler so every time i brought it in deep water half way uf the top of the snorkel (over the handle bars) it filled the whole case with water/mud. I do also think my mass air flow sensor in the air box is bad though i seen that my four wheeler is running way to lean. also thankyou very much for the info PROFILL i havn't actually took the whole belt housing apart yet but im sure that the rollers/ belt is the problem on mine. also i was wondering is there any way the rollers could be worn?
  12. oh and by the way can anyone tell me what the top speed of the kq 700 is and is it very responsive?
  13. im not able to check right now but as soon as i can im going to ride with the seat off and the air box open so it doesnt have to go through the snorkel and i will see what happens. i have brought my gps on the four wheeler before to see the speed but i didnt top it out at the time the only speed difference i could see between the speedometer on the fourwheeler and the gps was about 2mph. also one of my friends mentioned that the belt might be one of the problems. he has a grizzly 660 and its a hell of alot faster than my four wheeler is. my belt does not look bad though i took the cover off once before but who knows. i have not seen a brand new belt before. thanks for the reply very helpful ill check it out when i can and see if that works. i have another problem too when i go out riding in water(deep water) the belt keeps getting water in it i guess it has to be the seal of the belt or the snorkel leaking.
  14. no one else has any idea about what could be wrong with my king quad?
  15. it sounds like a good deal to me i have two friends who both have raptor 660's which are 2005's i think and they say they can get 2500 for thier bikes, so 3000 sounds like a really good deal for a 700 especially in that condition and a special edition.
  16. does anyone else have anything they think could be the reason? i really need help with this i have no idea what it could be. i know the tires make the speedometer a little inaccurate but by 15 mph? i dont think 2 inches in tire size difference could do that much.
  17. air filter is clean the gas is fresh 93 octane. and the butterfly on the throttle body opens all the way so it cant be any of those thats what confuses me too. thanks for the reply though.
  18. I just recently bought a kq 700 it is fully snorkeled and has 27 inch itp 589's. I have been reading up on the king quad for the for the past month and i noticed that almost everyone says their top speed on a stock kq is around 70 my kq only makes it to 50-55 tops and doesnt seem very responsive. i just checked the belt and it seems fine too. what could be wrong with it? thank you.
