  1. What have you done to it so far.
  2. I have been thinking of different options as to how to refinish the plastics on my 2007. Since it is camouflage there is not much sanding and polishing to be done, plus they have faded to blue, green over time. I feel like i have 3 options. I can tint clear with a warm tone to neutralize the blue green camo. I can try staining it and going over with clear. Painting, i dont like painting plastics, but might be my best solution here. My preferance is to buy new, and thats what i was going to do, and then all of a sudden the prices more than doubled.
  3. Your right it does sound like finniky 2 stroke behavior, a little suprized replacing the carb made no change. Probably does need an adjustment.
  4. I thought the outlaw 50 of 2008 was 4 stroke, am i wrong.
  5. A few things i might look at, it possible you might have air air leak between gasket, that would cause a lean condition, it shouldnt be dirty if new, you might check the mixture adjustment screw, also check jet needle to make sure it is stable and in tact in the right clip position.
  6. Thats good, i have found some good used parts on ebay lately also, there are sellers that sell quality parts, and there are sellers that sell junk, you really have to look at photos and read descriptions carefully.
  7. With no oil pump surprised the engine wasnt locked, especially with the damage to the cam and rockers, i would think there would still be some tell tale pieces of the gear hanging around.
  8. I just heard Tommie Smothers died, I watched his show in the 60s, it was a great show one of the best. He will be missed, if not for Mom liked you best, then definately for YOYO MAN and his state of YO.
  9. Dont have a manual but found these torqque specs.
  10. Thats a good weight to use it is colddddd! in Montana
  11. Dont think about it too long or you wont do it, especially after reading all these horror stories, its not bad , in fact i just went back and read my first post, i thought it might have been the worst horror story of all, but it wasnt i just kind of laid out what needs to happen didnt really go into details of how to get there. Its really not bad you can figure it out as you go, and we are here to help.
  12. 2 stroke or 4 stroke.
  13. Agreed, I dont have a honda, but i use yamalube, and Suzuki Ecstar, oil in my machines.

  18. Long as its working, who knows, is a mystery though. 👍
  19. Sorry, by the description I wasn’t sure which one you had
  20. Good you found that, explains a lot you weren’t getting a good connection through the block connector
  21. A little confused also, the start stop switch just kills spark, but in an earlier post, unless i read it wrong, you had good blue spark, but maybe it was intermittant, or not sparking when the plug was screwd in, which could be a switch problem.
  22. Valvoline is a great oil, one of the older brands thats keeping up with technology. Good to know about the Zinc, i know a lot of diesel oils advertize zinc as vitamins older engines need, dont really mention phophorus. I still use the branded oils from Yamaha always seem to be high on the list of best oil. I like mobil1 , i run it in all my cars, have been meaning to try the Mobile 1 ATV oil but never seem to be able to find it locally.
  23. The Suzuki Quadsport LT230S (commonly referred to as the LT230 and also the "little brother" to the LT250R) was the first sport variety all-terrain vehicle sold in 1985. It is powered by an overhead cam 2-valve 229 cc ("230") 4-stroke single-cylinder engine. It has a 5-speed manual clutch / manual shift drive train with reverse. The final drive is by 520-pitch chain. In 1st gear (stock) the quad would go: 16.7 mph (26.9 km/h); 2nd: 21.4 mph (34.4 km/h); 3rd: 32.2 mph (51.8 km/h); 4th: 41.9 mph (67.4 km/h); and finally in 5th gear the bike would go: 51.6 mph (83.0 km/h). It features hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, and independent double A-frame front suspension. The front A-arm suspension provided 6.3in of wheel travel. The rear is a solid axle. All the shocks are preload adjustable. The LT230 features a side-kick style starter, a feature not commonly seen on any kick start bike. The LT230 weighed in at only 309 lbs. The original retail price for the 230 was $1,969. In 1987, Suzuki released a slightly altered version known as the LT230E. It featured a semi-automatic transmission that had a different shift pattern than other listed models, electric start and recoil pull-start backup. After the LT230S' discontinuation in 1988, the LT230E remained in production until 1993. Suzuki also produced, for a period of two years, the LT250S. The suspension on the LT250S is a progressive rate with more travel. The LT250S is also wider and longer. The LT250S, although meant to replace the 230, was cut from production in 1990, the second and last year of their production.
  24. Visited Michigan many times, used to have family there near Battlecreek.
  25. Thats great news. Not that the switch is not working, but that its not something more serious. Good you figured it out.
