  1. Glad you enjoyed the vid Ox !! I almost fell off my bike when the guy on the sled did that. WAY too funny !! :smilielol5c: ... :smilielol5c: ... :smilielol5c: THANKS for watch'in too !! ...
  2. A friend contacted me last week and told me he had just bought some tracks for his Arctic Cat 700. He told me he and some Search & Rescue friends of his, who also have tracks, were going for a ride and asked if I wanted to come along and see some new country. :toetap05c: Gee … does a bear …. In the woods ?? HELL YEAH !! :hurrayc: HOWEVER, I wasn’t crazy that this area was up by a ski resort, on a narrow, windy road and on a weekend. But heck, it still sounded better than stay’in home in the inversion we’re in at home. There were five of us, the friend on an Arctic Cat 700, one Yamaha Rhino, one Polaris 4 seater RZR, one snowmobile, & myself on the “Bad To The Bone” Can-Am 800 Outlander MAX. :coolgleamAc: The area is called “Aspen Grove” and it’s up Provo Canyon by Sundance Ski Resort. The days ride would be road riding which isn’t my preferred type of track riding, but again, it beats stay’in home. Also, this country is REAL steep, so I’m not sure we could of done much boon-docking anyways. But all was good as it was. Lots of people were out too. We saw a several out walk’in their dogs, several cross country skiers, one guy on a fat wheeled mountain bike, one runner, and several other snowmobilers. We had a couple issues during the day. At the beginning the Arctic Cat had some EFI fault code thing going on and the bike didn’t want to run, but the guy did something and got it to run OK. Later, the 4 seater Polaris was do’in a little play’in and hit a rock with his right rear tracks and knocked it off the drive sprocket. :slap: We got the track back on, but it appeared he may have bent the large front bogie wheel support too. So he’ll have to check that out. It was a great day to be in the out-of-doors. The sun was out, the sky was blue, and there was snow, beautiful scenery, a bunch of friendly guys & no worries. What more could a guy ask for I ask ya ?? :woot: Here’s a short video of the days ride. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RauILQAnJoI]19 Jan 2013 - Aspen Grove Ride - YouTube[/ame] ...
  3. OH ... and you don't think I'M a handsome devil ?? ....... Don't answer that ... might be to much information & make me lose sleep at nite !! Glad you enjoyed the vid however OX Guy !! And THANKS for watch'in !! We've been in a weather slump here for a while ... fog, smog & haze with temps in the teens to low 20's all day long ... we need it to warm up & snow ... here's hop'in !! :wasntme: Glad you enjoyed the performance Quad Guy !! THANKS Swampy !! Glad you enjoyed the show as well !! ...
  4. Yup, digging out sucks ... but at least I had a shovel & I was able to get out ... SAVVY !!?? :woot: THANKS for the kind words & THANKS for watch'in too !! ...
  5. Yup, some more Track'in Po** for your viewing enjoyment !! :smilielol5c::smilielol5c::smilielol5c: The holidays are over & everyone went back to work & school, so I decided to go for a ride yesterday. … while my rid’in buddy stayed home … sicker than a dirty dog !! :pukec: It sure looked like the sledders where out in large numbers because the snow was tore up almost everywhere. But holiday weeks tend to do that !! :bangheadc: We really need more snow. There’s sagebrush and stuff stick’in out all over. And hitting a hidden log or rock not only scares the crap out of ya, it jars your teeth a mite too !! :shock2: Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty of snow to get stuck in, but what we have is dry, powdery, windblown stuff. If you break thru the crust … or hit a packed crusty area on one side, yet the other side is soft & powdery … and wind blown into a ditch … well, it tends to be WORK !!! :toetap05c: It was kinda cool when I started, my temp gauge read minus 10 degs F … yet, it warmed all the way up to 11 degs F above freezing. Had a blast and did 44.5 miles … so it wasn’t too bad !! :woot: Here’s a video of the days fun times. Hope you enjoy it !! Remember, change the video quality to 720p for the best viewing enjoyment !! :coolgleamAc: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2jgTlcO0-s]02 Jan 2013 - Curtis Creek Ride - YouTube[/ame] ...

  9. My riding buddy and I decided to head up to the mountains to see all this new snow we were suppose to have received the last few days …. All seven inches of it. Seems the major part of the snow went south of us …… Anyway, it was great … the sun was out … it was good and cold … no bugs, no dust, & we only saw a few sledders ... and as you'll hear in the video, the wind was a blow'in !! I tried a video camera pole I made, it’s takes some OK video at some different angles … but on an ATV, that means you’re riding “One-Handed” … and I don’t think that’s a good thing. :nono: I put a camera on my buddies Polaris 850XP … when the vid switched to video off that camera, listen to how noisy his bike is. :wasntme: Here’s a short video of yesterdays Fun Times … Hope you enjoy it. :seeyac: ...
  10. THANKS Quad Guy !! ..... and we got a little ... sure wish we get a heck of a lot more thou !! :toetap05c: THANKS for watch'in too !! ...
  11. Got the tracks put on the Outty & decided to run up to the mountains today to check out the snow conditions, do some more testing of the Drift GHOST HD Helmet Camera I just got, test out some of the camera mounts I put on my helmet, and a few other things. The day was overcast, temps were cool at 23 deg F with winds 40 to 50 mph and light snow. It was GREAT !! :woot: I took some video in 1080p, 960p, WVGA & the majority in 720p. After looking at them when I returned home, to me, the 960 & 720p looked the best. I added two camera mounts to my helmet. One is on the side of the face shield & the videos with the camera there are pretty good with not much helmet in them. The other mount is on top of the helmet & you get an “Overall” view. Not sure which location I like better. Both mounts are stick-on with 3M sticky stuff, they seem to hold real well … however, I was walking thru the trees to take some photo’s, a branch hit the mount glued to the side of the face shield & popped that camera off like it wasn’t even glued. I’m sure the cold temps didn’t help either. I also took some video with one of my older HD170 cameras. The exposure setting on both the HD170 & the GHOST were set at zero … and you’ll see that the HD170 is much darker. So on overcast days, I’ll have to remember to set that camera at +1. I must’ve hit the remote too many times at some point today too, because I had 177 photo’s instead of video. Dang it, that means I’m gonna have to re-read the instructions ……….. again …. Here’s a short video of today’s ride, hope you enjoy it … [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8Mlhopr9KY]12 Dec 2012 - 1st Track Ride - 2012-2013 Season - YouTube[/ame] ....

  13. THANKS Nut Guy !! :cheers2c: WOW, more snow than you've got & what we have I figure isn't crap ... oh well, I'll take what I can get I guess. :partyc: And THANKS for watch'in Big Guy !! :seeyac:
  14. And THANKS for watch'in !! :cheers2c: ...
  15. Yeah, haven't been on here much in a while ... but I have been rid'in !! :woot: Went for a ride yesterday ... WHAT A GREAT DAY !! :partyc: ........ I also had some items I was testing out. I bought a new Garmin Montana 600 GPS & I'll still try'in to learn how use the dang thing. Some of the functions are way different than the 60CXs I had. For one thing, the 60 had an option where you could save your tracks to the SD card ... but as of yet, I have NOT been able to figure out how I can save anything to the SD card. The screen will also orientate to either landscape or portrait & you can set it so the screen "moves" as the GPS moves. (From either landscape to portrait while in your hand). Yesterday I'd be rid'in along & the dang screen would start rotating on it's own ... So I gotta look into that. Next, I wanted to run the Pit Bull Growlers in some snow ... which they did pretty well ... but the snow was such I was work'in the motor pretty hard ... I'll be putt'in the tracks on this week ... A guy has been making some speed correction Black Boxes for Can-Am's & wants me to test one out. So I did all the pre-test speed runs a week ago comparing what the speedometer reads compared to the GPS speed. Did the calculations & input the data into the Little Black Box and yesterday I compared the speedometer to the GPS to see how close my calculations came. I still have some math work to do, but I'm close. Where this Little Black Box is gonna shine however, is when I put the tracks on. The BRP DPS Track Module I bought (at twice the money as this Little Black Box) is designed for the Can-Am Apache tracks which have 18 inch sprockets. And the sprockets on my tracks, which came off my Grizzly, are 17 inches in dia. So once I get the math part done & input the data into the Little Black Box ... my speedometer and GPS should match speed wise. HOWEVER .... I've noticed, this is gonna be kinda tough to get it exact. The reason is, the GPS has tenths ... and when the bikes speedometer reads 30 mph, the GPS may read anywhere from 29.7 to 30.6 mph. And it's pretty difficult to get the GPS to hold one speed (constant) for very long. And last but not least, I bought a new helmet camera. The Drift GHOST HD. After one day of videoing, I'm still out if I should have spent this money. This GHOST camera is smaller, but uses different batteries than my other Drift cameras. So I had to buy two additional batteries. The batteries can only be charged while in the camera. The camera has a larger LCD screen (2 inch) which is nice. The wireless remote now has side lights so you know when it's on. When I first started trying to use the remote however, I was pretty ticked off cause I couldn't get the remote to work again to work once I turned the camera off at lunch time. After I got home & read the "Instructions" .... I found out you have to turn the remote on too !! Damn gadgets anyway ... It will record in 1080p (25 & 30fps), 960p (25, 30, 48 & 50fps), 720p (25, 30, 50, 60fps), & a WVGA (25, 30, 50, 60, 100, 120fps) ... but the WVGA is only 848X480 size, where the others are 1280X720 or 960 & 1920X1080. It will also take photo's (at 11mpxl max) & you take a photo while in record mode. Like that's ever gonna happen while riding !! I recorded this video in 720P and although I also did this with the other Drift cameras, on Youtube, they gave you the option to watch it in 1080p. So far however, the below video does NOT give me that option. So I may change my recording to 1080p. And I may need a better micro SD Card. ANYWAY .... here's a short vid from yesterday .... Hope you enjoy it !! :seeyac: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbHx6iPyngU]07 Dec 2012 - A Little Snow Ride - YouTube[/ame] ...

  21. My usual riding buddy, on a Polaris 850XP, a friend of his on a Kawi 750 & myself, on an 800, went for a ride yesterday. :cheer: We rode from Hardware Ranch, which feeds Elk during the winter months, and is about 10 miles East of out of Hyrum, Utah and about 70 or 80 miles north of my home. :drivingc: The Elk Hunt is going on right now, so we wore orange vests to be safe. :shoot: We rode mostly roads because the guy riding the Kawi has had both elbows & one shoulder replaced … OUCH !! :shock2: We rode north from Hardware trying to get to Bear Lake. We made it to Millville, which is about 5 miles from Laketown, on the shores of Bear Lake, but we were informed, the burger joint at Laketown was closed for the winter season, so we headed back up into the mountains to find a place to eat lunch. The Forest Service was doing a “Prescribed Burn” in the area ( :toetap05c: Yeah, right during the Elk Hunt, NICE !!) … and the wind came up pretty strong later in the day & it appeared the fire got away from them, but we’re not sure. There's lots of wind noise in my vid since like I mentioned, the wind was blowing pretty hard all afternoon. Here’s a short vid of the days ride, Hope you Enjoy it !! :seeyac: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQFl-N851Hc]08 oct 012 Strawberry Valley Monte Cristo Ride - YouTube[/ame] ...
