  3. Which means I was out rid'in again !! :partyc: First however, I got some new tires last week ... some Pit Bull Growlers in 27.5X11R & 9RX12's. Man they're big ... loved them out on this ride I did yesterday. I'm running 2.5 psi in them (when I left the house that is) & they rode so smooth, soaked all the rocks & bumps. For my type of rid'in I think these are gonna be awesome !! :cheer: ANYWAY ... Did the Jacob City Loop - Soldier Creek area ride with a couple friends yesterday .... one guy rides a Kawi Brute Force 750 and the other guy rides a Can-Am 800 XXC. The Jacob City area is about 70 or 80 miles South of my home and in the "Five Mile Pass" recreation area. It was a perfect day for rid'in, sunny, cool, no bugs, only saw a couple other people, the fall colors were amazing, but it was dusty. We need some moisture to keep the dust down ... but ya know what they say, "Careful what ya wish for !" ... We did a little over 44 miles according to my GPS. We also rode from about 5200 ft to a little over 9300 ft .... and then back down. Because a gate was closed, we had to ride thru the town of Ophir. It's an old mining town with a ton of history ... and people still live there .... When we got up into the mountains, you could see a lot of old mines, some of which are still active. Man, them old boys must've wanted the silver & gold pretty bad to work that rock with picks & shovels .... and Dyno-mite ... Here's a short vid of the days ride ... Hope You Enjoy it ... and remember, change the video quality to 1080p !! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZWFoBkTOYo]05 Oct 012 - Jacob City-Soldier Creek Ride - YouTube[/ame] ...

  8. Ya know, I'm amazed at the number of people that said the exact same thing .... don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the ride .... however, for ME ... a little of that goes a LONG ways .... SAVVY !!?? :coffee: ...
  9. Here's a couple vids from a ride I did last weekend with some guys that invited me to join them to ride a new trail over by Vernal, Utah. There was one Grizzly, one King Quad, one Polaris & three Can-Am's ... none of us had any mechanical problems, but I did tear a rear CV boot. What a workout !! Hope you enjoy the vids. Make sure you change the video quality to 1080p ... that way you won't get as seasick !! 15. THANKS TRX Guy !! Glad you liked the vid AND the tunes !! :cheers2c: It's some great rid'in for sure ... I was surprised at the number of sport quads I saw on some of these trails too. :shock2: I use to have a Banshee and there is NO WAY I would ride it in the mountains. I mean, it can be done, but if I'm hitt'in bottom on the rocks with 27 inch tires ... what the hell is the guy do'in to the bottom of his quad with 20 inch tires ?? But each his own I guess  THANKS for watch'in too !! ...
  16. Decided to get up early Saturday morning & head 165 miles South to Mayfield, Utah to meet my younger brother, who has family down there, and do some rid'in on some of the Arapeen trails. :partyc: But at 0300 the thunder and lighting & downpour woke me up & I wasn't sure I was going to go. But I decided, "What the heck !" ... but once I got on the freeway, I wasn't so sure I had made the right decision ... Dang but the water was com'in down and 55mph felt way to fast to be traveling !! About 65 miles down the road the rain quit ... or I should say, the storm had passed that area ... & the roads were semi dry & the sky was clear ... sorta ... for another 40 miles before it started coming down again. I was thinking this whole time that the trails where going to be beyond muddy & slippy if we even went rid'in. But, the last 40 miles the rain had quit again ... so things were look'in up. :hurrayc: I met my brother & his wife at a small cafe for some vittles & then back to his in-laws to unload .... and meet his brother-in-law, his wife & their son ... so that's when I told there would be five of us riding. Man, that's more people than I've ridden with in a LONG time !! :toetap05c: And after we got to one of the trail heads, I also remembered why I don't ride weekends or holidays since I retired ... I've never seen so many freak'in people outside of the dunes !! However, it really wasn't to bad out on the trails .... so it really wasn't TOO bad !! :wasntme: We did 69 miles ... had sunshine, some rain, dust, mud ... and an overall great time !! I was going to head back home, but they talked me into spending the nite & the vittles they cooked up made it all worth it !! Yum ! Yum ! Here’s a short video of some of the days action ... hope you enjoy it !! And remember, change the quality setting to 1080p & use either the middle size or full screen, for an overall excellent viewing experience .............. WHAT ?? :seeyac: ... :smilielol5c: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geogFnH8SEU]01 Sept 012 - Arapeen Trail Rid'in - YouTube[/ame] ...
  17. Why THANK YOU TRX Guy !! Glad you enjoyed the vid !! ... and THANKS for watch'in too !! ... ...
  18. THANKS Swamp Thing !! Yup, a nice mix of terrain that day ... I love the slow & go woods too. Just not many trails like that here. Found this trail by chance ... can't wait to visit it again !! :partyc: ...
  19. THANKS Wylde1 Guy !! ... There are so many roads in that area, I've been on most of them, & some are closed off now ... but there's lots to explore out that way. :drivingc: Glad you enjoyed the vid !! :cheers2c: THANKS Quadnut Dude !! ...
  20. I badly needed to get out of town, away from people, breathe some fresh air & I wanted to test out my latest mods … so what better way than to take a day & do some rid’in. :bannana_guitar: Had a great day out in “Them Thar Hills” too. Saw Moose, Deer, Lots of Antelope, a couple Coyotes, some Ducks, a Golden Eagle, Chipmunks, …… SQUIRREL !! … and lots of squirrels !! :hammer: Went to Millie Springs (about 62 miles from my home), then in a round-about way, made it over to Curtis Creek … found a new trail too … then back across Thousand Dollar Ridge …. Lots of dust, got caught in some rain that came down so hard it hurt the ole mug … but I missed the real downpour … which ticked me off !! …. But all in all, it was a great ride of about 60 miles. :woot: I’m also glad to say, all the latest mods preformed dang good & I’m very happy with how the Can-Am hauled my rear thru the sage brush & over the trees !! :cheer: Here’s a short video of the ride. Make sure you change the Quality of the video to 720p or 1080p & you’ll be able to see the one Antelope (Barely) & the ducks better if you do a Full Screen. :comp10: Hope you enjoy it … :bouncing_smiles: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFnXRcBxr7A]31 July 2012 - Millie Springs - YouTube[/ame] ...
  21. THANKS Quadnut Guy !! :seeyac: Here's hop'in you'll be rid'in soon too .... even if it is 2000 degs F out there with 4000% humidity :willy_nillyc: .... it beats NOT being able to ride ....... RIGHT !! :cheers2c: ...
  22. Why THANK YOU Jeep Guy !! Glad you enjoyed the vid !! :bow2: ...
  23. Yup, a guy drives that far he has to make it a week !! ...
  24. Well, that's just the way it is out West ... unless you live right next to the National Forest or the desert !! But we're so use to it, it's no biggie. Heck, the furthest I've driven for a one day ride was about 210 miles one way !! But the way gas is now, if I got that far now, I want to stay a few days ....... SAVVY !!?? :woot: ...
  25. Dang, that's cool you live so close to where you can ride. The nearest place I can ride is about 45 miles away (one way) ... the trip for the ride in this video was about 115 miles one way .... so MOST the time, I spend almost as much time gett'in to the riding spot & returning home, as I do actually rid'in my bike !! ... :drivingc: ... however ... it is big open country out here, so it's all good !! :woot: ...
