Went for another fine snow track’in ride last Friday ... Yes, I could use more snow ... but I don’t have it so I’m just enjoy’in what I do have ... :partyc: However, on this particular day, things didn’t start off too good ... Dang, but I’m glad I had a winch & a shovel !! ... :woot: The rest of the day was a blast, took a different trail I haven’t been on for probably 30 yrs ... it sure looked different. I’m gonna have to do some map recon to figure out how I can make the loop .... cause it’s some steep country ... sure is pretty however ... :cheer: Then the day didn’t end quite as good as I would of liked. About five miles from the truck, just tak’in it easy on a packed trail, I noticed my “Check Engine” light was on ... then I noticed the message on the pod reading “Check DPS” ... Crap, why did it get hot I wasn’t do’in any real turning ?? :brickwall: Took the bike to the dealer to have the codes checked & it appears my PS motor is fried ..... SOB !! .......... Went for another ride yesterday & decided to go to the high country ... our high country where I ride anyway, which is anywhere from 8500 ft to 9500 ft. :drivingc: Because of the lack of snow to cover the highway, which is closed in the winter, and is a main route to riding areas, I had to find a back way thru a canyon named Skunk Creek Canyon ... this is a fun place to ride ... but you can only ride it in the winter cause it's all private land & closed in the spring thru fall .... Dang but I Love Winter !! :woot: Even on top, where the snow is a couple feet deep, we need more snow. Hopefully the weather guys will be right & we'll get some next week. :toetap05c: I did 44 miles on this ride & sure hated to return to the truck. :nopityc: BTW, this is the second cut of this vid, my first cut I used some Ozzy tunes & Youtube came back & said it was blocked in a few countries ........... crap, after reading the list, I was trying to figure out which country could view it ........ We had some high winds the other day & there was SUPPOSE to be a little snow dropped in the mountains. So I decided to go see how much was there. :autoc: BUMMER !! ... When I got to the staging area (Snowmobile Parking Lot) the highway was bare from the gate and as far as I could see up the road. :eek2: So I decided to head out West ... but the snow wasn’t deep enough to head out across country to I pretty much stayed on the roads ... which turned out to still be a blast. :partyc: The day started out sunny & cold but as the day progressed, I could see a storm coming in from the Northwest ... it was kinda cool to watch it advance as I rode all day. :wiggle: The snow was great. The top was windblown & crusty & underneath there was about a 2 inch hard crust. So traction was AWESOME !!! & I could open her up & let her run a little. It still worked the motor pretty good cause my check engine light came on & the message “Limp Home Mode” :dammit: .... so after a bit, I parked the bike & while it cooled down, I had me some vittles & some liquid refreshment. The Canned Ham is a little temperamental I think !! Anyway, here’s a video of some of my days ride. I have a lot more video &it’s difficult to put a full days ride into a 6 to 8 minute video ...
