Decided to go for a ride yesterday (05 Jul 012) .... The day started off cloudy, but it was dry & dusty .... that didn't last long ........ WHAT A GREAT DAY !!! Ya need to listen to the very first part of the video to hear my enjoyment !! I figured, most people would have left the mountains after the 4th .... boy was I wrong !! ... There were so many freak'in people up there ........ and stupid ones too. Most of them must have also thought they were the only ones on the mountain, cause I was rid'in easy up this road when some Wingnut came fly'in around a blind corner in his 4 passenger UTV & about took me out !! Then later after it had been raining for a while, I was going up this trail. It was kinda steep (steeper than it looks in the video BTW), black greasy mountain mud & rocky ... so I was kinda of committed .... I come around these trees & there's three guys parked at the top of the hill .... I was sure they'd move ....... Nope, guess they figured I was a figment of their imagination. So I go around them to the right ... but there's a burnt stump in my way ... so I head uphill to go around that ... and it's on a slope ... turn downhill towards the trail & there's a downed tree in the way ... & I have my wheels cranked downhill ... when I hit that I was sure I'd roll so I just kept the throttle twisted .... made it .... then there was another log in the grass ... I didn't want to hit it going to fast because on the other side the trail is narrow & falls away down a slope (it doesn't appear like that in the video, but trust me, it did) .... so I slowed down just a little ... and got high centered. After a couple seconds one of the Yo-Yo's comes over & helps push me over the log .... and I still dang near went over the side of the trail !! The rest of the ride was just wet & slippery & the Interco Reptiles just clawed up & over stuff like it was noth'in !! Saw Moose, deer, skeeters & some SQUIRREL !!!.......... and way to many people for my liking I might add !! Here's the video, hope you enjoy it .... My buddy and I took a week to go ATVing on some new trails in central Utah. The Arapeen Trail system in Utah is huge, and is broken down into the North End and the South End. I did the Southern End last fall. So my Buddy and I did the North End last week. :drivingc: The weather was interesting … when I got up the first morning & checked out the temp, I found it was colder in my trailer than in the fridge of the trailer !! I used the furnace from then on out … :smilielol5c: We did approx 236 miles of riding during the week. However, most of that was road riding …. But we still managed to have a great time. There were more people in the area than we liked & it was real dry & dusty with a lot of the dust being like talcum powder. AND, with little to no wind, the dust would just hang in the trees or small valleys …. So I got my fill of dirt that week !! :coolgleamAc: We saw lots of game. Mostly deer, but we did see a few Elk and we saw a Red Tailed Hawk get his Rodent Lunch on the fly … it was pretty cool. I watched two crows give a Golden Eagle a tough time over a dead pot gut squirrel until the Eagle left … with empty talons. :shock2: I really goofed up with the vids & pics however. I went to transfer the vids & pics from my cameras to an external hard drive I had taken (my laptop won’t handle HD videos) … but I forgot my transfer cables. And it seems my laptop didn’t like the SD cards. So I borrowed my buddies laptop, did the SD card transfer to the external hard drive thing. But when I got home & tried to transfer those files from the external hard drive to my PC, I get the message there are some bad sectors … and I’ve spent the last three days with several software programs trying to recover those files, but it appears it’s a “No-Go at this Station” !! And wouldn’t you know it, some of the vids I can’t recover are the best ones !! Anyway, I put together a 10 minute vid & some photos of the trip with what I had that was good. And even then, 10 minutes does not do a weeklong trip justice !! :nopityc: Here it is & I hope everyone enjoys the show ….... Oh yeah, make sure you change the video setting to 1080p & use the mid-sized screen. They opened the high mountain pass last weekend where I do a lot of my track rid'in, so I headed out yesterday to check out some of the High Mountain Trails ... when I left the truck at 0830, the temp was 33* F ... and when I returned at 2:30pm, the temps was 34* F .... dad-gum heat wave I tell ya !! 23 May 2012 and what a great day in the mountains. It was cloudy, sunny, wind blow'in betwix 25 & 40mph, snow pellets (Dang those things hurt) & snow squalls to downright blizzard conditions at times .... Did I mention it was a GREAT DAY !! That is, until towards the end, I ran into some guy from Missouri in his SUV, street tires, no shovel, & stuck in a drift !! Another ATV'er showed up & we got him out with our winches & tow straps tied to a big pine tree !! Did some rid'in in a logged out area & then onto the trails & the many snow drifts ... they're so much freak'in fun to play on !! Hope you enjoy the video ... Put together a vid of my last two rides ... nothing special, just some rid'in in the great outdoors with some great scenery .... one from out in the desert & one from the mountains. However, the terrain looks kinda the same ... the higher mountains are still closed until they open the highway later today. :toetap05c: I did luck out on both rides in one respect ... it being spring, fresh grasses & such ... I haven't found one tick on me yet ... of course, I haven't checked my a.... ......... ah ......... behind yet .... that's the wife jobs !!
