Sometimes, none of us really knows just how lucky we are to be alive & have the things we have. :prod: Health is a biggie .... Thankful I have the good health I have & survived the bad things that can put a man under. And I'm Thankful I can do the things I can do .... like ride .... so many can't !! :angelsad2c: Took me a lot of years to really appreciate the wife & what I've put her thru .... but no one every said I was a smart man or a quick learner ... so I'm Thankful she stayed with me ... :bow2: Thankful for the three great daughters I have & the grandkids they have blessed us with :partyc: .... Yeah, the husbands are OK too I guess ..... :boxing_smileyc: And I'm Thankful for this great country I have to live in ......... :patriotc: And the Big Guy upstairs has been too kind to me but I THANK HIM everyday I'm able to take a breath !! :bow: ... :bow: ...

Welcome to the forum Hank Guy !! :seeyac: BTW ... what exactly does your bike do ?? Will it idle ?? Does it die when warmed up ?? Does it die when ya give it gas ? Has it been sitting long before you bought it ?? :toetap05c: I assume from it being a 2001 it has a carburetor ... if so ... it may be gummed up if it had been sitting around long before you bought it. Might want to take the carb off & clean it up real good with carb cleaner. Check the needle & seat too. Make sure gas is coming out of the fuel tank valve ... sometimes the screens inside the tank will get crap on it that will plug them up. Check your spark & maybe change the spark plug too. And check to make sure the air filter is clean .... Not sure what else to suggest ... have fun dude !! :cheers2c: ...

Went to the desert again to clear my mind since the mountains are still buried in snow ... :coffee: This location is about 130 miles South of my home. It's just a side road off of a highway but has some excellent riding & scenry. :wiggle: I started rid'in about 0930 & it was about 5pm when I got back to the truck. Did a total of 38 miles, which isn't a lot for some, but is a good day for me. :woot: There was some real techincal stuff, some road, good trails, & narrow trails thru the Junipers ... it was an OUTSTANDING DAY !! :cheer: ... :cheer: Hope you enjoy the photo's .... :cheers2c: And there's a few more here if your interested .... :coolgleamAc: Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket ...

Went out to the Pony Express Route area by Vernon, Utah again yesterday. Had a blast, but dang it was cold & the wind didn't help. I froze my tush off !! :shock2: ... The weather guys said, Warm & Sunny ... but when I got there it was 27 degs, windy, overcast with a threat of rain ... good thing I took a couple extra shirts with me. And I had to put my Gore-Tex rain bibs on to protect my ........ legs ... so much for "Warm Weather Riding" ... you'd think I was still winter rid'in with the tracks !! :nopityc: I did 57.3 miles today and this is unusal for me, but there was lots of road riding betwix the areas to wheel. Got into some sticky black mud, some snow, & yup, some dust. It was a Great Day !! :partyc: The 30th of Mar 2011 is when I took my first ride with my Can-Am, and as of today, almost one year later, I have 1,758.7 miles on that Bad Boy !! ... Not bad Huh !!?? :cheer: ... and that's true miles, cause I bought the 3rd Position Track module which gives true miles driven & speed when the tracks are on ... so ... to alll you nay sayers ... :slap: Lots of roads out here, lots to see ... a guy can ride fast and still do lots of techincal riding ... :drivingc: Well, here's the link to the slideshow ... hope ya like the photo's .... :cheers2c: Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket ...

Took my tracks off a week ago and got the bike ready for some serious dirt rid’in this year ... I hope. :hurrayc: I changed the front & rear diff fluids, the gear box fluid, engine oil, filter, put on a new belt (try’in a Gates G-Force this time), new plugs, greased the Bad Boy, and then put all the skid plates back on ... and the tires & wheels of course .... :smilielol5c: Decided to drive about 100 miles South of where I live to the Old Pony Express Route in the West Desert by a small township named Vernon. Went out there because I figured there would be less or no snow compared to some other desert places I ride sometimes this time of year. Well, there was plenty of snow to play in & it kept me out of a couple places .... but there is so much area out there a guy could ride for days. :partyc: On the way back to the truck I opened her up a little ... at 65mph I decided that was fast enough. However, I could tell she still had more .... so maybe next time ... :woot: Saw lots of deer, but only got one to hold still long enough to take a photo. I also saw a few Antelope & the one in the video kept running in the same direction I was riding, so when I got my chance I snapped a photo of him too. :coolgleamAc: Had a great day out there and I think I’ll head out there again next week. Did about 46 miles, which put me 2.2 miles short of 1700 total miles on the Canned Ham in less than one years time. I have eight more days before I have that one year on my new bike, so by the end of the next ride, I’ll have about 1750 ... if I push it !! :icon_bsc: Hope you enjoy the video .... :cheers2c: [ame] [/ame] ...

I’ve been out riding three of the last four days. Had a problem the first day, so didn’t get to ride much. The second day, I decide to head up in the late morning, when the snow is melting. I get up there & it’s soft & wet. Clods of snow are fly’in & I’m hav’in a pretty good time. Traction was pretty good too, but every now & then the bike would just sink. Kinda made your .... ah .... made you pucker !! Then today, I head out real early to see if it’s better to ride when the snow has frozen a little. It’s not. The crust made it a bugger to steer. Yes, even with power steering. Half the tracks would be down into the crust which was about 3 or 4 inches thick & you just could not steer out of it. And when the entire bike fell thru ... WHOA !! ... Give’er some gas Pedro !! But had a great time regardless. Did a little play’in on some hills but didn’t want to get to crazy because I’m runn’in a used belt until my new ones show up. Look’in at the our local weather, it’s gonna be touch & go with track’in for me. 50’s F in the mountains all week with a storm com’in this weekend. But still fairly warm even then. So I’m gonna try & get out as much as possible while the gett’in & track’in is still fairly good !! Hope you enjoy the video !!
