Looking forward to posting some questions on here, doing some reading on here, and enjoying the company of others. So I bought a 1994 Yamaha Big Bear 350 4x4 from a buddy of mine for $1,000. He has had the ATV for about 2 year. No rear problems when talking about the motor. It has failed to start some, and unfortunately it does not have a pull string. Not sure if that is something I can add on later or not. But we traced the issues to the starter and replaced it. Now it starts easily and has a new battery and starter that he bought . Issues I am going to be working on, and asking questions about: Hours display is broken and doesn't show anything at all Would like to possibly add a speedometer at some point Rear brake doesn't work until the pedal is all the way down to the floor, and then it engages, doesn't really brake. I'm thinking this is a simple adjustment ATV pops and clicks when turning. Was thinking CV axles, but not sure and want to be 100% sure before I order replacement parts Need to learn the braking system better. It has two hand brakes and then the pedal brake. What's the difference and how do they all work together. Assume one is a hybrid brake that engages both front and rear at the same time, but not sure Need to clean/paint the hubs The shifting is tough and some times requires more pressure than I'm comfortable with. Not sure if it's lubrication, or an issue with the linkage. Need to learn that too. Having a hard time finding a manual online, need to buy one probably I have around $500 to invest into the ATV. I am hoping this will take it back to really nice riding condition. Any thoughts on the above issues/concerns? I plan on using the search functions as well. Looking forward to hearing from you all. - Brandon

Went to neal motorsports in long prairie minnesota and they had one 2012 brand new for $4,000. Too good of a deal to pass on. They are making room for the 2014 so they all had great deals but it was the last 2012 they had. They had a 2013 700I LE for $6,450 I almost pulled the trigger on but figured I'd start with the 450I since it's my first atv. Warn plow and winch kit $579 with shipping and probably 3 hours for an install. So far she runs like a top and I have a year to ad on the 4 year extended warranty for $580. The way she runs I might just keep my money. I haven't topped her off yet but I can get up to 35 without even trying. Easy steering feels much better than my parents foreman which after a drive I can feel it in my shoulders. I really can't wait to get the plow in to see how she pushes snow and in a few months I can see how she handles in the mud!!

So I bought my first quad for 300 bucks. It looks to be in good shape and everything is there. The starter is cracked, so I got a new one on the way. Impatiently I have been pulling on the string and it fired up today and ran for a couple of minutes. It sounded great, but when I attempted to throttle it up and turn the choke down it stalled and did not start back. It made somewhat of knocking noise for a few turns after the stall. Sounded like it was possibly flooded with fuel. After letting it sit for little while the noise stopped while pulling it but the engine never started again. My arms could not take anymore pulling for one day. I was told the quad has set for about 2 years. So I am concerned the carb could be gummed up. After everything so far do you guys think im on the right track? Should I pull the carb off and clean it or does the 2 minutes of run time tell me that its probably ok? If I remove the carb how does the choke cable come off the carb? Im an automotive mechanic by trade but new to the atvs. Any help to get this thing running so I can hit the trails sooner would be great. Thanks

Bought it as is, runs good.....when I can get it started. There is no battery for the electric start and I effin hate pull starts. Curious though before go spend money on a battery, I have no brakes....at all not even a cable, that'll come later as I dont use brakes anyways. What I am wondering is will the electric start work without brakes? While looking for a battery I seen you need to pull the rear brake for it to start. 2000 Yamaha Big Bear 4x4 Auto Clutch/Manual Shift
