I recently posted pics of a burned up stock regulator/rectifier on a 2000 Suzuki King Quad 300. It lasted about 14 yrs. and the group advised replacing it. After doing this and replacing the battery it started having the same symptoms before the other unit died. The engine would run very rough unless the headlight was switched on. Then while riding one day the engine died completely. Any ideas as to what might be killing this particular part. The part was not that hard to replace but runs about $95.00 and is a pain to access. Want to get this tested and repaired once and for all. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hello everybody, I am the owner of a 2005 Kingquad 700 with 10251 km (6370 miles). I bought this ATV one year ago. Since I have this ATV, I have a high oil consumption. 20 fl.OZ each 150 miles. Therefore I decided to change the piston rings and also the valve seals. The ring clearance was out of tolerance. I did not change the piston and the cylinder. The clearance of the new rings are in the tolerance. After the change of the rings and seals the problem seems not to be solved. The oil consumption is still the same. The problem is that the ATV is not smoking blue (like oil burning). The sparkplug is coffe brown in the middle and black outside. The spark plug is completely dry. The coolant has a normal colour. No oil inside. There is no oil leak. The airbox is dry. The engine is starting and running normally!!!! I change also the oil type: 10W40 -> 10W50 Where is the oil going? I am sure that the oil is burned but why is the ATV not smoking blue ??? With this high oil consumption, I expected that the ATV smokes blue or the engine wouldn t run properly. My next step would be to change piston and cylinder.... I am confused and it would be helpful if somebody have a good idea.

I have two 2006 Kingquads and use them almost every day to get around the ranch. I just replaced the clutch and front brakes on one of them and while it was down for about a month it started running rough and the gas smelled funny. I added some Seafoam to the gas tank, air intake and crankcase and it started burning oil with a blue smoke and goint through about 1/2 quart of oil per tank of gas. I have done compression check and leak down test and both are good. I have drained and cleaned gas tank and changed oil twice. Don't want to take the top end off or replace rings when the compression and leak down don't indicate any problems but the blue smoke is so bad I can't ride behind the oil burner. Any Ideas?

lets all boycott burning rock atv park untill they tell use why out of state cost more than in state. they told me they looked at hatfield and mccoy and theres is that way, and i told them that hatfield and mccoy get state tax money for there trails there for out of state should pay more becouse we do not pay the tax to start with. burning rock get there money from federal taxs that we all pay so there for we should all pay the same to ride. i hope that we can get them to lower there price becouse i like the trails and the people at the trailhead but for the money (if you have never been here) go to hatfeild and mccoy, they have a lot more trails, places to stay, and eat. they cost less to for out of state- $50.00 per year wit over 400 miles of trails and more comeing this year. burning rock cost $60.00 for out of state and there are not many places to stay and no where to eat, they have less than 100 miles of trails.
