New atv mechanic mom in training

Recommended Posts

Hi, my names jade 25. Western NC Mom of two young boys. Who wouldn’t have a fourwheeler if I hadn’t picked up learning about what it took to repair a China 110 quad. That lead to a passion of atv repair. 5 months in and I’ve learned quiet a bit and interested in helping and learning how to fix my current Honda 87 250x that’s been through some hands as well as a china 50cc dirt bike that’s been rebuilt on the outside and soon learn how to replace valve stems and piston rings.

Welcome to Quadcrazy @Jade Dockery You will find tons of helpful info here as well as juts some cool posts of members doing some cool stuff. So even after the bikes are ready to roll we love to see pics of everyone having fun. So ask away post as many pics as you need and remember the only stupid question is the question that’s not asked.

I'm a mom of three girls and I just got my daughter an 07 honda trx400ex for her birthday. I've worked on cars and motorcycles but this is my first time doing anything on an atv. So far, I am having a blast. Everything is so easy to access. The only problem I've ran into is finding parts, it's a little frustrating not being able to run down to the nearest auto shop and get what I need.

Patience is not my greatest strength. I literally just got done tearing apart my buell blast to get to the fuel hose on the carb so I could put it on the ATV. All of the auto stores are closed right now and I didn't want to wait until morning to get it, lol. I live in Farmington, Arkansas and I usually go to U Pull It to get parts for my car but I've never seen any motorcycles or atv's there. I need to start calling around and see if I can find a salvage yard that has them.

My king quad 700 runs rough when cold then won't start some times but not often when it's hot. And occasionally smoke's a lot when it's cold I'm guessing that's rings but I'm worried unless it's causing the other problems

      All help is appreciated thanks

My friends KQ 300 starts fine and runs, as soon as you put it in gear and try to accelerate its bucks and farts like crazy, not moving... I cleaned carb and it worked good for 1 day... now back to same problem.... could it be such as a bent valve????

I plan on using my ATV to hunt. What have you found to be the best method for carrying your rifle that is secure and allows removing quickly to pursue an animal?

      Hi everyone.
Let me explain the thread title.
My husband and I are very active in the nudist community, and we have stayed at many and most of the mainstream nudist and clothing optional campgrounds in the USA. We are now approaching our retirement and would like to start a podcast to share those off the road / backwoods / little known camping areas where nudity is allowed. We have purchased a 5th wheel camping trailer with a rear garage for the ATV and now need some good reports on the one to buy.
We are most interested in a side by side unit but would love to get your thoughts.
Feel free to stop by and say Hi and ask anything you would like to better understand what we are looking for in an offroad unit.
Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you.
