I'm a SAXOPHONE MAN. I love playing along my favorite music, R & B; softrock;latin jazz;oldies;blues. I come home from work all tired and stressed out from it and playing my sax relaxes me right away. I know how to read a little music because of high school but I'm better at playing by ear. I usually listen to smooth jazz. Hey don't get me wrong heck I love music especially when I go riding , ROCK motivates me everytime. BLACK SABBATH, CREED, DEMON HUNTER,DISTURBED,KID ROCK, METALLICA,MOTLEY CURE,RESORTE,SLIPKNOT,SALIVA. Just checking if anyone plays music or not that's all. O yeah and a few notes on the piano and quit

I used to be a Piano and Drummer Guy.....Havent Thought about any of it in 25 yrs though....I ALWAYS wished I would have played SAX....I think its the most Soulful noise ever to come out of an instrument......Gotta bring it for around the Campfire:biggrin::wink:

Wow! Me I don't know. I'd have to drink a few to get brave enough and play a few, in order to play in front of just met friends. It would be cool though man.

That's too hard for me. My all time favorite band is Sublime. I'm pretty partial towards Slightly Stoopid too. I had a little seat time behind the kit with them. I really love the old school punk rock.

Well I can kick butt with my CD player  Listen to a little bit of everything from the late Robert Johnson to Ted Nugent.....BUT can't do country music at all.

You gotta love the "Motor City Madman". I grew up listening to my dads classic rock, I'm addicted to it.

Do you like any of the old blues? The road that we live on had several juke joints back in the 20's era and one was even on the property that our house sits on now. Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, BB King, etc. has played on our property at one time or another here years ago....in fact Robert Johnson was poisened just a few miles from our house.

I pretend to play the drums but wouldnt dare call myself a musician. Hey stoopidbot1 there is a Sublime tribute band called Wrong way. They play here in the south around GA, AL, and TN. ---- WRONG WAY: A Tribute To Sublime ---- That should be there site and they also have a Myspace page. I just saw them play Saturday, have been to many of their concerts and they always do a great show.

Have you ever seen Slightly Stoopid? Bradley Nowell discovered them. I played drums for them for a while.

Yeah , Im not positive but when I was stationed in California I think I've been to one of thier shows. They got a great sound also.

Do you play often? Can you play by ear, you listening to music and playing along it. Try it , it's pretty cool. When I was in school I learned to read music and I got bored always reading music. So I started listening and playing along my cd's and got better at my playing. Now it's easy to play anything I hear, well except rock music. O and by the way, nice drawing you drew, excellent. Thats one of my other talents I have too, drawing. I do more of calligraphy lettering. Anyways back to the subject "music". I hope you don't stop playing and riding ofcourse.

      Hey Everybody,

I am always curious about any ATVs I haven't tried yet. I'll probably be in the market for something different soon, currently looking to sell my 05 Brute Force 750. I decided to note my favorite features of any 4x4 ATV and compile them into a list. These are all models I've had in the past, the King Quad 300 and Brute Force 750 are my current models. I'll most likely consolidate to one.

Really just wanted to get some ideas on what other people have owned in a similar range, and maybe get ideas for my idea quad (used). So far, I keep finding myself back at the 05 Yamaha Kodiak 450 or Grizzly 450. Not sure exactly what years they made which, but they seem pretty similar.

Some of the features I tend to like best  (aside from durability and reliability)
Engine braking (good for hill descent) Park gear (the regular parking brakes always seem to be finicky) Mid sized engine for better fuel efficiency (Seems that anything 500 or above really starts to guzzle gas, and they fit better on narrower trails) IRS (more comfortable ride) Diff Lock (can't live without it) **Side note: I know Durability and Reliability might seem like they'd be the same, but the way I am defining them is:
Durability is how long I can go without something breaking. OR how often things break with seeming not much of a good reason. Reliability is about the on-trail experience of having everything work properly as designed (i.e. Starting up and being able to get going without much issue, the 4wd drive engages without quirks, I can park it on a hill when needing to help someone else without worrying it'll roll away, etc) My Brute Force 750 is a perfect example of why Durability and Reliability were rated so differently. With durability, I really never felt like I've had anything break on the thing that was really from riding it. Which is great in that regard. But all of the things i've had to fix on it seem more so in it's design. The infamous KEBC code on the dash that refused to go away even after completely cleaning and lubing the KEBC and confirming it functions properly. Hard starting issues. 4WD requires you to roll about 10 to 15 feet to engage, so if you get stuck in 2WD, you're in a pickle. The infamous bus connector that goes bad and stops your charging system from working. I've worked through all of these, but these are all things I'd consider reliability issues that happen really at no fault of mine as I ride it pretty gently. Writing up this list has actually put a lot into perspective for me. The King Quad 300 really is a superb quad. The inclusion of the Super Low range provides stellar engine braking down pretty much any hill you can think of, it seems like it's unmatched. It has great gas mileage, and it's been dead reliable despite being a 1994. It's got 4x4 AND Diff lock, and the semi automatic transmission also help with not letting the quad get out of control down a hill. Plus it's more fun to me and gives me a bit more to do while riding. The biggest annoyance so far has been the parking brake. No matter how much I adjust it, it just doesn't seem stay adjusted after some time. I believe this might just be flawed on these models.  Also, parts availability is not the greatest on these since they don't make anything newer with any similar parts. Front axles are quite expensive, rear drive shafts go for $400 to $500 brand new, etc.
And that's where the Park gear on Yamaha's Ultramatic eliminates that issue. That's where I keep landing on the older Grizzly or Kodiak 450s. They have a park gear, IRS and Diff lock, a lot of power and they're super fun to ride (got to test one).  But I'd be giving up fuel efficiency and the Super Low range. The Ultramatics still have good engine braking, but still not comparable to the Super Low on Suzuki.

With ALL that said, curious about what other people out there have had and enjoyed, and I'm just looking to get some ideas of what other smaller/mid sized quads are out there with similar features.  I don't really know anything about Honda, Suzuki, or Arctic Cat models from the mid 2000's.

      Curious to hear other perspectives!

I picked up this ATV that had no spark. The previous owner said he was driving it and it died and would not start. He discovered it had no spark. He replaced the CDI and the coil with no luck. He got tired of it and I bought it. I replaced the stater and now it has strong spark. Now, it starts for a second or two then dies. It will not stay running. I have checked the timing and it is spot on. The valves are adjusted correctly. I see no warn issues with the cam. I put the original CDI and coil back on it. Same problem exists. Compression is at 65 psi (has decompression mechanism),
I took off the muffler in case the issue was clogged pipes. No change. I replaced the spark plug. No change. The carb was an aftermarket so I put a Niche carb on with no change. I bypassed the fuel pump and that did nothing to solve the problem.
I don't know if this is a carb issue or an ignition issue. I am looking around locally for an OEM carb to try out but not sure that will fix the problem.
Can anyone help me solve this problem. I am running out of ideas.
      Thank you for your time
      Bill

If you had to choose one mod that you couldn't live without, or had to recommend one what would it be?

Recently rebuilt front end on this Polaris 400. New axles, bearings, seals, control arm bushings, Hilliard clutch thoroughly cleaned and inspected with no damage noted.
Everything put back to together. Placed bike on jack stands all four wheels off the ground, started in 2 WD switched to AWD both front tires spinning, when AWD turned
off right front wheel will not disengage from AWD. Checked voltage at connectors both left and right connectors have no voltage with AWD switch off, and both have 12.4V
when AWD switch is turned on. Repeated turning switch on and off several times with no change in condition. I am thinking this must be something mechanical with the
Hilliard clutch on the right hub ie. weak spring or stuck rollers on the Hilliard clutch assembly (Is this a logical thought?) any ideas on trouble shooting this before I disassemble the
      right front hub again

Has anyone had experience with the installation of the Optional RH Side Panel Close Off Kit as shown as p/n 2207445 which is supposed to help control the heat on the right side on my legs?  Right now that panel is wide open with excess heat on my leg.
