whats up? ok i got a 92 king quad. ran excelent for about 17 years now =) when i went to start it this year, i put in new gas and charged the battery. it wouldnt fire.. checked the plug, looked kinda crappy, so i just put in a new plug anyway. went to fire it again and it started to run but when i let off the start button it went flat instantly. went for it again, choke and a little throttle, and it started and revved up, only to die when i let off the start button, like i didnt have a spark anymore. so my ? is, do you know why my quad will only fire when i have the start button pushed?

Did you leave gas in it for a long period of time? You may just need to clean your carb. Or you may have a loose connection in your ignition system, check the key switch, the kill switch, and all wire connections from the battery to the primary and secondary ignition systems for a loose connection or ground. Also check the coil wire/plug boot.

Pull the plug wire off and test the spark to see if you actually only get spark when pressing the start button. is it a matter of every time you start it, its start up but dies after you release the start button? If so, that's odd.

Like DD said, check your connections.

How does it crank, slow? How old is the battery? Is there a safety switch on that model? I don't remember. It has like 3 shifters right?

Hey everyone looking for a suggestion of where i can start looking. But first I'd like to explain what happened. Took the bike this morning got it started in 6 degrees celsius in 6-7 kicks? No choke. Drove 6km and when shifted to next gear bike decided to just shut off, stopped checked everything out seemed good, started first kick and on i went, drove maybe another 2km bike did same thing but this time it took me 10-15 kicks to get it started, on the third time after a kilometer decided not to start at all. Kicked it like a 450 a couple hundred times, nothing. So far checked gas is good, bypassed fuel filter and on/off valve to eliminate that problem, hot wired the kill switch in case something got corroded there. Nothing. Any suggestions would be welcomed. (Heard valve adjustment are a must do?)

      Hello all!
I was given a 2000 Suzuki Quadrunner 500 (Quad 500 Runner?) and its current state is a bit of a mystery!
Kept indoors but hasn't been run in 5 years.  We're not trying the engine until the gas is replaced, and the tires are reinflated. But the previous owner said their only issue was stalling when shifting to reverse without giving some throttle.
      I'm optimistic!  See y'all around!

My 2004 Yamaha Grizzly 660 seat is a mess, torn up, cracked, and I have been duct taping it for a while.  I bought new vinyl for $35 and need to do it one day. A new seat used to be well over $250 but now its under $100 so I couldn't resist. I got it on ebay with a 10% off coupon for $85.05 plus tax. https://www.ebay.com/itm/146040022154
In case anyone is looking for a new seat for their Yamaha Grizzly 😁

I saw it on Amazon as well for under $100
