2007 Yamaha Raptor 350 Backfire

I purchased a 2007 yamaha raptor 350 it has some back fire when i let the gas go is this normale at times?

I sounds like the A/F ratio is off.

where would i find the A/F setting?

It is on the left side of the carb, it is almost like a dipstick... I think.

any mods done to it? what jets are you running?

Any modifications? Exhaust..etc? If the air/fuel ratio is off, that will cause this. Maybe it needs to be jetted or cleaned? How's the air filter?

First thing I would do is check the air filter, clean it and see if that helps.

So as far as the problem goes, I'd say that you need to check the filter.

I also have a raptor 350 2007, an if you just got it or you've had it for a little while I'd just like to say

GET RID OF IT NOW!

I have had nothing but problems with my raptor 350, and it's not because of me. I broke it in properly, I take good care of it, but it seems like time after time it dissapoints me.

It leaks gas, it doesn't go into reverse well at all, It rarely goes into neutral, it isn't very fast at all, and it has a very poor transmision. I just got back from a camping trip yesterday at Coos Bay Oregon, and I am about done with this quad. I have been riding quads for my whole life, so I can tell when a quad is sh**, and my quad is sh**. I got lost on a trail and was seperated, and when I was trying to turn around my quad got stuck in reverse and would not get out for anything, I ended up being stuck there for a half hour until my dad finally found me and had to practically break the lever off to get it out.

Good luck with your problem, but in the end, I think the best solution would be to get rid of it.
