2000 Yamaha 350 Warrior Back Firing

I have a 2000 yamaha 350 warrior idles but will not rev up it just backfires. Any suggestions????

i would check the carb first and make shure thats not the prob... and then start checking other things if it till does it ... the spark plug could also cause thoes symptoms ..

sounds like dirty carb. if your lucky, you can try a can of spray carb cleaner thru it while its running, if that helps, there is a good brand of gas tank additive for cleaning (forgot the name of it). if worst case scenerio, if you have to pull the carb, use a non-chlor brake cleaner. you'll have better results than a carb clean.... IMO
