  3. So I have a lot of free time in the winter and 2 yrs ago decided I wanted atvs but can’t afford them without getting my hands dirty. $90 to get told my banshee jetted taught me a lesson, just figure it out. So I picked up 2 blasters $125. Rebuilt yellows engine. Blue had full tear down.

  4. Welcome @Andrew Weston! RZRs are awesome, wish I had one!!! Welcome @Bill Moore, bayou 220s are tough ATVs and can keep up in the trails with the best of them. Had some friends that all had them at one time, great ATVs for the price. Welcome @Doug Davis! Yes this site has been around for years and has a rom of great content. Glad to see members joining regularly and contributing, makes it fun to read and be a part of 😋

  5. If you get it going they are fantastic old bikes. A tune up it needs for sure I actually seen tune up kits on Amazon for these. I have a 97 300 king quad myself it's a great bike. All the best the service manual is helpful when working on any atv/utv.

  6. My 300 bayou used to drive terrible when the oil was getting ready to be changed. Then like a new bike with new oil in it. I always used wet clutch oil. Not standard 10w30. Hope it helps.

  7. Still searching for a front rack that won't require a mortgage to pay for and trying to get enough posts to view the manuals. Did get the plastics taken off. Had to be the easiest I've ever removed bolts that old. Everyone came out without a single problem. I did notice the idiot had removed the plug wire, coil still under there and the boot on the plug. I pressure washed it to remove the years of grime from sitting and evict everything that had decided to build a home in it. Three of the old tires hold air for a few days now lol. All gonna have to be replaced if I get it running but it's easier to drag around the shop when it rolls easy. My luck I got another bike with oddball 11 inch tires. Quick question does anybody know if 28s will fit under one of these? Got a buddy that will sell me a set for real cheap but IMHO I think they might be too much for this bike even with a 2 inch lift.

  8. Casey Martz it really depends if you are going with an older quad or something new. In todays world the atvs/ utvs are going for insane amount of miles as compared to some of the old school bikes. in my opinion anything with a Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, or Kawasaki badge on them are good bikes they have been around a long time and build quality. as for the old school. the older Hondas are great bikes. I have a 15 year old Yamaha Kodiak I love it. 12000 kms on it and works great. anything you buy maintenance is the key. all the best with your search

  9. watch out when changing timing chain on 2005 honda 350 there are three marks on the cam gear. use the one nearest the 350 stamp. I found out the hard way.

  11. Yeah I've had 2 in the past. I outgrew a 185 and the 300 was a basket case racks and plastic wise so I sold it. Been running yammis since. I actually picked this 400 up for the engine in a single seat buggy but once I got it home it's in better shape (minus the missing parts) than the 2002 Kodiak I'm running now.

  12. Newbie here. Just picked up a ‘98 Kawasaki Bayou 220. Needs a little work so I’m searching the forums for tips and tricks.
