  2. I'm retired, live in north Peru and recently bought a 2 year old 450 sportsman HO 2017 with 20,000 miles on the clock. It has been part of a fleet for agricultural commuting and has had proper maintenance as it still looks and runs pretty good. Checking out for the efi parts i found the fuel injector was not stock and lifted with 2 bushings to make parts fit. Does anyone know if there is an automotive fuel injector that might fit, with the same flow rate and specs,as polaris parts are nearly impossible to get here. Nowhere on the internet can i find cross reference parts from Bosch or Delphi as polaris part numbers appear to be a captive market. Would greatly appreciate some advice Regards, Robbie

  3. My interest into quads was from living near a stone quarry. Most of the kids around me were riding them from a young age as was I and now my son is riding.

  4. About 4 years ago I bought a Chinese made carburetor for a spare just in case I needed it. This last Duck season my 2004 Yamaha Bruin 350 4x4 started running terrible it would not idle it would die so I decided to try the new Chinese carb I had. While I was removing original carburetor I noticed one rubber tube connected to the carb was cracked over half way so I proceeded to remove and install new Chinese carb. After the installation of the Chinese carb I started smelling gas so I found gas leaking from new carburetor so I figured I would install the original carburetor because I replaced cracked rubber hose. After installing it ran great it idled perfect. then I started smelling gas again it was leaking from the overflow tube at bottom of carburetor. So I ordered a new oem carburetor from Partzilla. received new oem carb installed it runs great and no gas leak

  5. Yeah could be a leaking float needle valve, or the float level might be set too high, or there might be a leak between the float needle valve's brass housing/seat and the carby body. Take the carby apart and pull the float out, then the needle and then the needle's seat. Check the "O" ring or washer that seals between the seat and carby body, then put that in and check the needle's clean and put that in, then fit the float and check it's height adjustment.

  6. Float valve not sealing properly in the float seat. Is it a chinese clone? Those usually have hard rubber and can cause all kinds of issues. Try taking the float valve out and polishing the seat with a q-tip in a drill and a touch of carb cleaner and hopefully it'll seal.

  7. My girlfriend and I have 4 kids together. Two of the four, my second oldest and the only boy, the baby of the four, were both diagnosed with autism. The older of the two has more of a severe case. She is nonverbal but is high functioning mostly because of how we raised her and her brother. We treat them just like any other kid and never put them on a schedule because life is unpredictable and I’ve seen how detrimental it is when an autistic child’s schedule doesn’t get followed. We wanted to do something together as a family and something fun the kids would enjoy also. Our other two daughters have sacrificed a lot to help us as a family take care of their brother and sister with autism so we wanted them to enjoy it also. So we bought a few quads and have been riding with them as much as possible when it is possible for the last 6 years. They all love it.

  8. I started off on a 70cc Honda 3 Wheeler. Of course this was after the power wheels. From there it was onto a Honda 50cc dirt bike with the semi automatic 3 speed no clutch. Great memories!

  9. Saw a four wheeler in a magazine ad at a young (singe digit) age. Ever since I can remember, I had interest in anything with wheels and an engine. But four wheelers were a new concept to me that I was hooked to, immediately. Craig had not blessed us with his list yet. Word of mouth and the new paper were my 'search bar'. I purchased a dirt bike around age 9/10 with saved holiday money. Alas, my preteen 'income' was never enough to acquire any of the atvs I found for sale. Luckily, neighbors and older friends occasionally graced me with permission to drive their machines but this only made me want one for myself even more. At age 15/16, I was finally able to get a four wheeler of my own. I want to say it was a Honda Recon or what was left of one. I'm not sure which large mountain it fell off with all its broken/missing plastics and bent frame/suspension - but the engine worked and all the gears worked, most of the time, so it was a win for me. Anyways, other machines have come and gone from my ownership. As I got older, I made small upgrades until my machines actually started to resemble the quads they started out as. I am very happy with my current Polaris Sportsman even though it pales in comparison to the gorgeous machines that I've seen members post. Guess I have to keep grinding. If you enjoyed reading my crazed ramblings in this post - Great! If not, just remember, you probably only wasted a 1/4 of the time it took me to write this. Thanks over and out

  13. Most tend to get started at an early age. However, I myself didn't get started until about 3 years ago when I was 29. The first thing I rode was a 2003 Polaris 330 Trailboss. "One Eyed Willie" they called it. It was a bike that got past around the community for ones that didnt have a quad yet. After that first ride I was hooked and spent the next year saving up to either by something second hand or put a down payment on one. Ended up going the finance option and happier because of it. Now I ride 2018 570 Sportsman and I have to say so far out of all the quads Ive rode since, mine is still the most comfortable enjoyable ride. Owners bias I'm sure but nothing really compares to that Polaris cushion seat.
