    I would fill it with marvel mystery oil and let that sit for a few days before trying to turn it over

    Hondas are tough engines i was avoiding going there because i very rarely see one with a roached engine, but not knowing the history or abuse level it could be possible. Have you done a compression check, i would do one, see what the readings are then put some oil in the cylinder not a lot maybe a couple of tablespoons, do another compression check, if the compression goes up the rings are bad. It could also be smoking through the valve guide seals, it could be a combination. How many miles are showing on it.

    I agree with Jen that only non-alcoholic fuel should be used in small engines particularly if there will be long periods of non usage or storage. Alcohol and water in presence of certain metals will form corrosive acids. I have seen and cleaned a few carburetor float bowls heavily sludged due to old alcohol fuel

    I've used your tongue wt calculation method before kind of a fulcrum method. I know a lot of people have no clue on that method. You have many talents. Might be a little too heavy? My comfort zone on my F150 hitch is less than 500 lbs, but not sure of ratings with the Toyota hitch system. Last year I hauled two motorcycles out of Arkansas in a 12' enclosed trailer and calculated the tongue wt at 375 lbs.

    Here is better pic of rafts on our swim break. Its all day on the River. Everybody has to paddle hard to keep the raft moving tough the water fall rapids (11 foot vertical drop) or the rat will be pulled under by the "hydraulics" of the violent water. The guide sits on a wood platform steering the raft. We took several swim breaks. Cannot wait until this fall and go back ATV ing along the New River W Va. West Virginia is a great place to ATV or SXS.

    The plastic cover that says honda on it pulls off and the bolts are under there but be carefull not the break the tabs holding the plastic in place. The metal plate is also part of the handlebar mounting clamp.
