    I also don't have kids or house payments. Big difference on available money. You dad has more assets than I do. Meaning if he sold everything he own and I sold everything I own, he has more. I'm getting all my toys built up now before I'm in that boat.

    I'm a drug dealer! J/K We have good jobs and good credit. When I bought my truck and my quad I put nothing down and no trade in. I told them what I wanted and they said here you go. We'll send you a bill for the next 5 years. Then you double up on payments, pay a 5 year loan off in 2.5 years. That does wonders to your score.

    They are not a must but it is the difference between your feet coming off the pegs and breaking your shins or not. I know a guy that raced in AZ. on quads. He landed wrong and both feet came off the pegs and snapped both of his shins right above the boot line.

    It's an all white KTM set up for the sand. I've only seen orange.

    Test ride it. Shift up and down through each gear. Look for any wet looking oil on the side of the case where gaskets are. You said they just rebuilt it, so there will probably be dried/burnt oil on the case. Check for oil at the end of the exhaust pipe, this is a sign of blow by. Check the frame for cracks or rusty spot. Look at the welds on the a-arm mounts, check the swing arm for cracks and rust. Pay close attention to the frame near the foot pegs. If they jumped alot, good chance they weakened the structural integrity of the frame. Anything I missed?

    I really want new, but if I found the right used I would buy. I just like to know what it has been through. I know people that wash their machines once a week, change the oil after every ride. I would not buy from them because of how they ride. Big jumps landing on flat ground. Bouncing off rocks, stuff that leads to cracked frames.

    Just look at the specs, the 08 comes with a pipe that is comparable to any of the best after market. Same with the intake, suspension, wheels/tires. It is race ready. The 09 they made it dual over head cams instead of the sohc like the 08 which made it even faster. Not only does it still come with the best everything they even put bead locks. All you would really need fro racing is nerf bars.

    I understand what you're saying, the old look just isn't for me. I won't be getting anything new until next season. So then the 2010 machines will be out. I will get the same deal on an 09 leftover that I could get on the 08 now. KTM is what I really want, but the 08's are practically impossible to get, sold out everywhere near me. The 09 KTM cost about 12 grand. Speaking of KTM's, I think this is the coolest looking machine I have ever seen.

    The racing I do and have done you have pit stops. MSRP is 7600. You think I will pay that, you're crazy. Just because YOU don't like the looks doesn't mean everyone does. I personally think the 08 and older models are dumb looking.(the front) The new look is what I like about it. And the fact that it comes with Fox shocks. I'm sorry you don't like it, your opinion will be the LAST thing to sway me from buying one.
