    All machines come from the factory jetted for sea level. Yamaha sends the a bit on the lean side anyways, and when you start climbing in elevation it just messes with stuff even more.

    Welcome again Mike! I'm glad you joined our little group and our great sport. I hope you and your family have some great times and make some great memories. You certainly did get some nice toys to start out on. So what does your family think of ATVing so far? What kind of riding do you guys enjoy? If you have any questions at all, feel free to ask, we are all more than happy to help out. Remember the only dumb question is the one you don't ask and guess on. That leads to broken machines.

    The rim size I don't think would be a problem as long as your fronts tires are an inch bigger than the rear. I would think it would handle the same. That is a nice looking ride!

    The 500 has so much torque through the whole power band. I can stand it up in 4th with little or no effort, just a twist of the wrist. 1st gear is almost retarded.

    I agree about comparing CC's. A 400 2 stroke is going to have significantly higher hp than the 4 stroke. Perfect example, me on the CR500 and my cousin on his Predator500. We did this in Mexico...Let's just say he was VERY thankful for a chest protector. That only lasted until 3rd gear, then my roost wouldn't reach back that far.

    I have also seen people that put these boxes to increase the rpms to a number that is too high for the stock internals. The people who make a quad that is built to run at 30HP run at 70HP but don't change all the necessary stuff to safely run a small motor at those kinds of numbers...Those are the ones who ruin their machines.

    We got about 6" the other day, Today the high is 14. It was -18 when I woke up.
