HA! as much as imma honda lover, i doubt that statement. but if they are anywhere on par with KTM models at a decent price then it might be a great quad for the money. What im hoping honda does is: 1) follow yamaha's lead and have the standard 450r and mx ready 450r 2) on the mx 450r im lookin for ---A) 50inch stance ---B) decently adjustable LT shocks(with either ZPS or dual rate springs) and Aarms (like the yfz450r and LTR) ---C) stock HRC package ---D) the reliable honda engine that we have come to know and love. 3) on the standard 450r ---A) BETTER and SOFTER shocks! ---B) narrow xc stance ---C) stock HRC package ---D) and the engine stated above Just what i think honda should do.

yep, the 400ex has its proven bulletproof engine. thats what made me buy it. a few simple mods like exhaust, filter, jets, 16t front sprocket, and curtis sparks advanced 6degree timing key, will make this thing pull so hard. now the only flaws i can come about this machine is: 1) stock suspension-its just flat out sucks. i would reccomend for a low budget person to buy some 450r shocks. they bolt right up. 2) its not a top end screamer. i find my self hitting the rev limiter and looking for more throttle. the 16t sprocket aitalked about above will give you that extra kick in the top end. welcome to the addiction!

my buddy has a HDUSA/ISHOCK front end, i can say it is amazing. he has the single rate spring but its still is quite a set up! very nice choice bot, i need a stablizer as well.

i use havoline 10w-40 in mine but any motorcycle oil will get the job done. JUST DONT use synthetic oil with MOLY in it, this will make your clutch slip.

wahhhh?!?! by the time you make the honda as race ready as the ktm sx models you have already spent 6000 on the quad and 8,000-10,000 on bolt on items. total 14,000-16,000 compared to the ktm price tag of 12,000. besides orange is much cooler than plain ole red

ummm no, get your facts straight. the 450sx completly kills the 450xc! unless of course your a xc rider. the SX's displacement is 2cc's higher(449) than the 450xc(447) and the SX's shocks are also better than the ohlins on the XC's. the WP shocks on 450sx features high and low speed compression adjustment while the ohlins on the 450xc does not. the SX also comes with 8 inch rear beadlocks. this link should set you straight on the both ktm quads specs. 2009 KTM 450SX and 505SX vs. 450 and 525 XC ATV's Specifications but you cant go wrong with either. if i had a choice i would take the 450sx by far!
