Bike in gear ?
Did you drop anything in the engine ?
-
You didn’t put the timing chain back yet correct ?
The timeomg chain should be held up with a piece of wire so it does not fall in the engine and jam up. Is it psssble that the chain is kinked down in the engine ?

Nice friken work!!! I will show you my dyi valve tool also lol. Great job. So carb cleaner will help clean all that Carbon off.
Remeber to use grease in the rockers, valves etc during reassembly and refer to the manual or Quadcrazy if you aren’t sure of anything 👍👍👍👍👍

How’s the project going?
-
Hey mike. How did you make out with the ignition and relay ?
-
Welcome to Quadcrazy Big E. Nice looking bike for it’s age. I like older bikes, they are fun to work on without all the electronics.
So you should be able to find a manual in the downloads section of this site. It’s the tab on the top right side and go down to the download tab and it’s self explanatory as far as looking for your bike. It should be there or a year close to it.
You must have at least 10 posted items before you can have access to the manuals but you won’t have any trouble doing that as you will find this site pretty interesting as I did. You will wind up asking questions and commenting on some of the posts maybe helping out the next guy with there problem or just posting some cool pics etc.
So welcome to Quadcrazy and enjoy the bike brother!

That’s great that they hold events like that. And raise money too. A lot of bikes show up?
I would load up the bikes and make the drive for a day like that!
-
So the cam is out ? That pic looks like it’s still in ?
-
Go to the download section on the right top side. Look for your bike and model. The valve compressor will only work with the head separated from the cylinder.
-
Take a look at some of these. You are also able to download the manual yourself if you want. Make sure you take some time and absorb it. You are deep into this now so failure here is not an option. You have to put this back together the way it came apart and when the bike fires up you will feel great! So take your time and read it and don’t get frustrated.

So if you count seven fins up from the bottom of the head that’s the separation point form the head to the cylinder.
The cam you may have to just hold the rockers up one at a time to slide the cam out and then the rockers can come out.
Screw one of the bolts that held the sprocket on into the cam to help you grab it better.
-
So there some larger Allen key type bolts and some smaller 8 mm bolts on the side of the head they will release the cam and rockers. Just remember how and what washers come out and go back the same way
-
Look at the diagram I sent and you will see how it comes out. The rockers are held in by bolts on the side of the head.
-
How’s it going ?
-
You will definitely need the cam and rocker assembly out of your way.
-
Make sure all your bolts are out any tap the sections wit a rubber mallet or a 2x4 small piece. Be gently rough lol
Once the head is separated from the cylinder head:
The cam shaft is out correct? If so you should be able to remove the two bolts on the side of the head that hold the rocker arm in. That will take the rocker arms out and expose the top of the valve where you can get the spring compressor over the valve.

That head has to be separated
There is a top end to that head. The head should separate from the lower part.

Hello Airborne, welcome to Quadcrazy! You will love this site.
Nice bikes you have coming. Hope to see some pics soon!
We are from ny and ride in the Catskills area. All wooded type riding.
Goos luck with the bikes.
Safe riding!

Yes, review the video one more time and be aware that the small clips that hold the valve in they can fly off if your not seated correctly. They are impossible to find once they take flight ! Lol so be mindful of them not falling out when you are removing/reinstalling etc.
Check the valves for any obvious bends or damage
Make sure you re install the valve back in the same location it came from.
Clean out the port and valve itself of any carbon buildup before putting it back and grease the valve stem as well when sliding it back in.
The old seal pops off and new new on pushed right back on.
You got this!
-
Just watched that video again! That place looks like a great ride! What is that location ? The mud pit was nuts. Is that open to anyone riding or private land ?
-
That’s a good idea. The relays go bad over time. That is a newer bike so I’m a little surprised but anything’s possable.
Ignition switches go bad all the time. Especially when they are in bad locations. Polaris was putting them on the right side of the bike in front of the gas tank. Not sure on the outlaw but could be just wet and oxidized inside.

Your going to have to unbolt the cylinder and see if the cylinder moves when you rotate the engine then you will know if the piston is locked up in the cylinder.
