  1. So is it not working or you havent been in the right circumstances for the front wheels to engage. Interesting, they dont call it 4 wheel drive in the manual , they call it allwheel drive.
  2. Welcome and good wrenching, sounds like a fun project. Its always interesting picking up where others left off.
  3. I would also check the gear linkage they are prone to get out of adjustment on this model.
  4. I would check the belt out first see if everything is working correctly there. Is it always in neutral with neutral light on.
  5. You have replaced the bad coil you have 12 volts, it sounds like your magnetic lockup in the hub may be sticking, you may have to pull the hub off to see if that is working properly.
  6. The King Quad 300 was produced from, 1991-2002 and was the most advanced on the market when introduced. The later ones from 1999-2002 got some upgrades which made them the most sought after, i cant remember exactly what made them stand out, but i think it had something to do with gearing.
  7. I know the feeling been there, go through a hole, lay down on your back, make sure you go through the right hole, my drain plug was like 21 or 22 mm couldnt find a short socket that big, so had to put something in the deepwell to keep the bolt from falling down in there so i could start the bolt back in the engine, with long extension, lot of messing around for a 5 minute job. Luckily my oil filter was easy, screw on type.
  8. It is a drum brake but it has a twin piston caliper, it sounds like the caliper is hanging up, i would pull it off lube it up a bit and see if that helps, the pistons may be sticking also, go ahead and check that out while you have it off, or you could replace it, thats what i did , they are fairly cheap, actually cheaper than the OEM kit, and i really didnt want to mess around rebuilding it.
  9. That does make it difficult, to work on.
  10. Thanks for clarifying Mech! I didnt know that , so some 300s are arctic cat engines, or some other branded engine.
  11. The jumbo set is nice, but I ended up getting their large impact sockets for the larger size that you very rarely need, they were cheaper but the drawback was they were deep well sockets too long to get in tight places. I also got a set of huge open end wrenches sometimes you just can’t get in there with a socket even the shorter ones,
  12. I understand that, but how do you determine which jet it is, they work together to a point and pin pointing that point when they are not together is difficult. Thats why i have always stuck to the OEM recommended jets.
  13. Glad you like it , its the best one i have found, alot of interesting activity and information available
  14. Intersting, do you go by sound in the mid range speed to deterrmine if the jet is lean or rich, or exhast smoke, or performance.
  15. I find it interesting that nowhere on the 400 engine in my Eiger does it say Suzuki it is usually at least engraved in the side cover somewhere.
  16. Welcome,Great site lot of information, hope you enjoy it
  17. I have been working on the same. Bike and I got my manual from this site
  18. Armour all is what i use it does a good job on old rubber.
  19. I bought a flywheel no problems, in fact Niche seems better than most aftermarket parts i have bought. I would send it back and reorder, I always buy stuff like that from Amazon ease of returns .
  20. From what i recall i think it was 1 1/2 inch open end to use to get in there.
  21. It sounds like the gears are not meshing up properly, is the shifter cable activated or electronic.
  22. The 300s are the same as King Quad and the 400s are the same as the Eiger.
  23. My grandkids are about that age, and they run over everything in sight on their Barbie and Batman battery cars, i cant even imagine them on a 90cc qquad, yours must be different, please be careful lots of kids get hurt on them every year, but they do need to learn.
  24. The throttle limiter screw, screws into the throttle housing just opposite of the thumb lever, if you screw it in it limits the throttle from going full open.
  25. Perfect for him to learn on, 50cc 2 stroke is a good size, and suprizingly more power than you would expect.
