The 2009 goes way faster! My buddy has one and kept up with my brothers 08 450er when it was stock. Keep in mind that the 450er is carburated. Also, youll probably be able to get warranty for the 2008. My friends 2009 z400 has given him various problems with the clutch slipping and skid plates being rubbed by the chain.

Believe me when i tell you I AM NO EXPERT, but it could be the pilot jet. That is relevant up to 1/4 throttle. Just a guess!

2005 Honda 400ex blowing oil? (jetting too)

No its white smoke! Thats why it doesnt seem too serious to me. -
I have a 2005 400ex that is blowing more oil than normal. When i start it while its cold, it blows smoke that im pretty sure is oil! Also, every time i go riding (4-6 hours) It blows a little less than half a tank of oil. My dad says its the piston rings but hes no expert! Also anyone know how i should jet it for a k&n filter? (only because the previous owner had put bigger jets on it, i dont know why)
